5 5. A list of lessons that meets your search criteria will appear. You may click on the blue title to view the lesson or the purple Assign button to assign that lesson to your period. 6. Once you have assigned the lesson, you will automatically be redirected back to your weekly schedule. From here you may click on the lesson to view it and make any necessary changes to it. Options for creating multiple lessons for one time period: 1. You can add multiple periods to each day with the same time allowing you to create more lessons for activities occurring at the same time (like centers). If you look at the picture below, you will see that there are five periods with the same 1-5 time. This format would allow you to create five lessons during that time for each day of the week. 5

6 2. Instead of listing each activity/center on each day of the week, you can spread them out across the week during that period. Center 1 and Center 2 on Monday - Center 3 and Center 4 on Tuesday etc... In the picture below, there are two Programming periods from 1-5. This option does not show that you taught all ten activities/centers on each day of the week; however, it is understood from an administrative perspective that you are actually teaching all ten Centers each day during that block of time. Copying a lesson to a different period: 1. Click on the period that contains the lesson that you would like to copy to a new period. 2. Click Assign this Lesson to another Period. 3. Check all the periods on your weekly schedule to which you would like to copy the lesson. 4. Click Assign to Periods. 5. You will now see the lesson title, standard (S) and objective (O) indicating that your lesson has been copied to the selected periods. Moving a lesson to a different period: 1. Click on the Move a Lesson button at the bottom of your weekly schedule 2. Select the lesson you would like to move. 3. Select the period within your weekly schedule to which you would like to move the lesson or select the term and week to move it to a new week. 4. Click the Move Lesson button at the bottom of the page. 6

7 Removing a lesson: 1. Click the Remove Lessons button at the bottom of your weekly schedule. 2. Select the lessons you would like to remove. o Note: These lessons will be removed from your weekly schedule but will still be in your lesson memory, so you can assign them later if necessary. 3. Click Remove Lessons. 4. If you want to access this lesson again for later use you may. o See Applying a Previously Created Lesson to a Class Period Searching for a lesson: 1. Click on the My Lessons button on the left side of the page. 2. You may search for the lesson by lesson name, objective, standard, week, grade, or subject. o Note: it is only necessary to search by one of these features at a time; however, you will only see the first 100 results. o When searching by name you may type in the entire name or just part of the name. 7. A list of lessons that meet your search criteria will appear. You may click on the blue title to view the lesson or the purple Assign button to assign that lesson to your period. 2. Once you have assigned the lesson, you will automatically be redirected back to your weekly schedule. From here, you may click on the lesson to view it and make any necessary changes to it. Sharing lessons: 1. Teachers within a building may share lesson plans with each other once they have been assigned to a period. 2. Click on the Plans button on the left side of the page. 3. Use the drop down menu to select your building and term. Then select the teacher whose lessons you want to view OR the week you would like to view. 4. If you search by teacher, a list of all of the weeks for which they have submitted their lesson plans will appear. Select the week you would like to view. 5. If you search by week, a list of all of the teachers who have submitted their lesson plans for that week will appear. Select the teacher whose lessons you would like to view. 6. You will be directed to that teacher s weekly lesson plans. Click on the lesson you would like to view. 7. To copy that lesson to your own schedule, click on the purple Assign button at the top of the page. Select the term and week to which you would like to assign the lesson. Check the period(s) where you would like the lesson to go and click the Assign to My Periods button at the bottom of the page. 7

8 Submitting weekly plans to Principal: 1. Once you have completed your weekly lesson plans, you will submit them to your building administrator by clicking on the Submit to Principal button at the top of your weekly schedule. o After your plans have been submitted, you may still make changes to them as necessary. o Submitting your plans allows the principal as well as other teachers in your building to view your weekly plans. Printing your weekly lesson plans: 1. Click the Print Week s Lesson Plans button found at the bottom of your weekly schedule. 2. A new window will pop up. Click Open. 3. Click File, then Print. Printing your daily lesson plans: 1. From your weekly schedule, click the Print button under the day of the week that you would like to print. 2. A new window will pop up. Click Open. 3. Click File, then Print. o This print option is great to use for substitute plans. Archiving your lesson plans: 1. This feature of the program is designed for accountability purposes. It is only for use after you have finished teaching your entire week of lesson plans. 2. Check to ensure that your weekly lesson plans are accurate and reflect what you actually taught that week. Make any changes necessary to reflect the actual lessons taught. 3. Click the Archive for Records button at the top of your weekly schedule. o It is very important to archive your records at the end of each week so that you will be able to create reports o Once you have archived a lesson you will not be able to make any changes to it. (Note: You will be able to make changes the next time the lesson is used.) Creating reports: 1. Click on the purple Reports button on the left side of the main page. 2. You may create a report two different ways- by viewing all standards taught in lessons or by viewing all standards taught in a content area. 3. Enter in your search criteria and click the View Results button. 4. The report will show you each standard and each lesson in which the standard was used. ONLY LESSONS THAT HAVE BEEN ARCHIVED WILL SHOW IN THE REPORT SECTION. 8
