2 The Challenge How does one prepare leaders o address he complicaed public challenges we face? A Harvard Kennedy School, we believe in he value of experience. Offering our sudens he opporuniy o work a he righ hand of proven leaders is he goal of he Michael S. Dukakis Governors Summer Fellowship Program. Through his funded, bi-parisan fellowship, sudens develop he leadership and analyic skills o ackle sae-level, criical policy issues in healhcare, educaion, economic developmen, public safey, and more. Dukakis Governor of Massachuses, , Why Harvard Kennedy School A he Kennedy School, sudens learn o examine policy problems in heir enirey: o analyze he available informaion, o weigh he possible impacs of alernaive policies, o undersand poliical ramificaions, and o produce plans for acion ha are organizaionally feasible and publicly valuable. Through a core curriculum focused on economics, daa, sraegic managemen, poliical advocacy, ehics, and financial managemen, our sudens are prepared for leadership posiions in public service.
