2 Gail s Gatherings Thanksgiving is behind us and now everyone is preparing for Christmas. How exciting it is to be decorating, feasting, attending parties, purchasing gifts, and sharing our bounties with others. The Holidays are a time for family, friends, and celebration. As we all prepare let us remember those who are less fortunate. There are so many avenues for giving and helping and I know all of you planning to do just that. Gail Teegarden, President Burnet County Republican Women I want to say Thank You to all the ladies who served on the BCRW Board this year and each of you made a contribution to our successful year. It has, indeed, been a pleasure and honor to serve with each of you. Your knowledge and willingness to give of your time has made my position as President so much easier and pleasant. I am looking forward to 2016 and Victory for the Republican Party in all elections. Each of you will have a special role in this success. Get ready to work in our local, state and of course, the Presidential election. I am thanking you in advance for all you will do for your country. CONGRATULATIONS!!! 3 Minutes Burnet County Republican Women General Meeting November 12, 2015 Reed Building, Burnet, TX The regular monthly meeting of the Burnet County Republican Women was held on November 12, 2015 at the Reed Building, Burnet, Tx. Gail Teegarden, President, called the meeting to order at 11:45 a.m. Carolyn Taplin gave the invocation and Karrie Crownover led the pledges to the United States and Texas flags. Gail recognized elected officials, candidates, precinct chairs and then all guests. Gail pointed out that Mary Moore, Vice President, was celebrating the 50 th anniversary with her husband Pat. She then asked all veterans to stand and thanked them for their service. We then broke for lunch. Gail invited Casie Walker to introduce our speaker. She announced our speaker Amy Clark Vice Chair of Republican Party of Texas and an NRA Member. Amy gave a very motivational speech about having energy and enthusiasm during this election time we are in. She gave several examples of how to speak up about your conservatism and enter into conversation with those that are not of the thinking and principles that we have. Amy also talked about her being a proud member of the NRA. Gail presented a book The Clinton s War on Women and told Amy that the book would be presented to the Spicewood Public Library in her name. Gail then asked the group to review the minutes from the last meeting. Londa Chandler motioned that we accept the minutes as presented. Casie Walker seconded the motion-the motion passed. Carolyn Richmond, Treasurer, presented the treasurer s report. The balance of funds is $3, Gail announced that the club had purchased enough constitution books to give to all middle school students and ask for volunteers to help apply stickers showing they were provided by BCRW. Then the Caring for America chairmen, Von Brookshire and Carolyn Taplin handed out notes for members to put thank you comments to send to the women serving in the military along with the items that had been provided. Carolyn also mentioned that food needed to be given to Christian Women s Job Core. Donna Wilcox, County Republican Chair announced that she had sent a letter to all candidates regarding campaigning rules and ethics. Katherine McAnally then announced the slate of officers and the members approved as stated. Gail then mentioned that three of our group attended the TFRW convention and it had been very informative and enjoyable. Mary Moore announced that the next meeting held in December was going to be pot luck and requested that all bring various kinds of salads. With there being no additional business Mary motioned that the meeting be adjourned. Gail adjourned the meeting at 1:05 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Janice Estill Janice Estill

6 Caring for America Please bring a medium size stuffed animal to the December meeting to be donated to the Children s Advocacy s Center. The toys are used when the children come into the center.
