2 Our Club Tarpon Springs First Friday Petition Signing Sees a Lot of Business Pam McAloon and Ellsworth Warmouth were among the NPRC members who staffed the table at the first First Friday of the year in Tarpon Springs. Like the Third Friday events the club has attended in Safety Harbor for several months now, it was an opportunity for the club to (more next page) 2

3 Our Club reach out to the communities it serves, to solicit voters to sign petition cards for candidates, and to involve club members in a broader range of activities. Other club members who took part were president Ron Walker, treasurer Jim Downes, Penny Lee Todd and your editor (above), Interestingly, the person at right is actually a DEMOCRAT running against Gus Bilirakis who had the nerve to park himself in front of our tent. We took his picture to prove that Democrats could be so disrespectful and clueless as to try to horn in on our space. He stayed until your editor chased him away. 4 Our Club We re Readying Our Membership Directory Are You in It? The club issues a membership directory at last once a year. It shows a comprehensive list of members who have paid their annual dues. Although members can choose not to be listed or not to have some information listed, the directory ideally shows names, mailing addresses, addresses and phone numbers. Beginning last year, the directory is issued electronically. It appears on the club s website, from which it can be downloaded and printed at members convenience. Members who do not use computers or who cannot otherwise access the information may ask the club to print a directory. For 2018, we will issue the directory by the end of February. In order to accomplish that, the cutoff date for the payment of dues will be the regular club meeting of February 15th. Each member who has yet to pay their dues has been contacted by twice in the past couple months once before the annual holiday party and then again last month. 5 DeSantis, Candidate for Governor, Can Trace His Roots to Our Part of Town History degree from Yale, law degree from Harvard, Judge Advocate General s Corps, writer, wife is a TV newscaster sounds like a resume from someone you might expect to be a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, or at least a Democrat but it isn t. In fact, Ron DeSantis likes to call himself Florida s number one conservative, and evidence of his record in Congress tends to support that. DeSantis, who has just announced for Governor of Florida, is Chairman of the National Security Subcommittee, and is a member of several committees that can and do exercise significant influence in modern American life. In the area of foreign affairs he focuses on south Asia, the Middle East and Western Hemisphere nations. In the area of domestic affairs he deals with the Constitution and Civil Justice and he works on Governmental Reform and Oversight. He is a social conservative and 2nd amendment man. President Donald Trump has expressed his support for DeSantis. DeSantis serves on the conservative-oriented Republican Study Committee. Congressman Brian Mast kicked off his campaign announcement. There is little doubt as to DeSantis conservative credentials. The candidate at his kickoff Not bad for a guy who played Little League in Dunedin. He was a member of the team that went to Williamsport in That s right, he has a lot of local roots. He graduated from Dunedin High in 1997 still has family here. McCalister, Trump Man, Speaks about America and God to NPRC on 2/15 Mike McCalister, National Spokesperson for Citizens for Trump, will address the North Pinellas Republican Club at its regular meeting on Thursday, February 15, at 7 pm.. A retired colonel in the United States Army, McCalister talks about the basic American rights envisioned in the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed by the Constitution. His focus is on the relationship between our Christian heritage, those freedoms, and our constitutional form of government. McCalister holds a PhD in management and has participated in Harvard programs. He studied extensively in issues related to international affairs and military organization. McCalister has been a candidate for both Governer of Florida and the Senate. The meeting is preceded by a social hour at 6:30 5

6 Opinion What Republicans are Thinking: A friend in Largo, who wants to remain anonymous, offers this focused analysis So Ron, Looks like this is what happened: The DNC rigs the Democratic Primary Election against Bernie Sanders so Hilliary can win the nomination. Obama's administration starts to request surveillance on Trump, his family, his transition team, and anyone associated with him. Donna Brazil gives Hilliary the questions to a debate. The DNC pays Christopher Steele to come up with a smear dossier about Trump. The mainstream media releases a taped conversation about Trump talking about grabbing women parts. After all this Trump still wins the General Election. Obama orders an investigation into Russia meddling in our elections. Obama changes Executive Order to allow more agencies to have access to surveillance data. The Democratic Party comes up with a scandal that Trump Colluded with Russia to win the election with no evidence or proof. This wild claim is backed up by the mainstream media. Obama hold overs start unmasking Trump's transition team and staff members then release the classified information to the mainstream media. Why? Because the DNC and the Obama administration colluded with the intelligence community to thwart Trump's campaign efforts to get him elected president. All this Russia collusion is an attempt to cover up the fact that the Obama administration, the intelligence community, the DNC, along with the mainstream media used our nations surveillance as a political tool to try to get Hilliary elected President. This makes Watergate look like a kindergarten play. Could these conniving, crooks (I m using restraint here) really get what they deserve?
