Accommodations Free advisory services are available to help students find accommodations suitable for their needs. The Niagara Region offers affordable, safe and quality housing one of the many advantages of studying at Niagara College. Accommodation options include: Homestay (two-month minimum): $750 per month Landing Pad (one month): $750 On-campus residence + Sept Apr: $6,900 + Jan Apr: $3,450 + May Aug: $595 (per month) Off-campus living ($350-$1,000 per month) * All prices listed in CAD. Working in Niagara International students studying at Niagara College are encouraged to take advantage of the diverse range of employment opportunities available. These include: COOPERATIVE EDUCATION (CO-OP) Gain practical industry experience while you study. Many co-ops are paid. ON-CAMPUS AND OFF-CAMPUS WORK Eligible students may qualify for on-campus jobs or off-campus work with a study permit. POSTGRADUATE WORK Niagara College graduates get jobs. Our graduates work locally, across Canada and internationally in some of the most specialized fields in today s global economy. Transportation All post-secondary and graduate students studying at Niagara College are issued a U-pass that grants unlimited ridership across the Niagara Region s public transit systems. The cost of this pass is included in tuition. GO Bus service: Students can easily visit Toronto via Route 12 buses from Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus. Student Services Beyond the classroom there is much more that Niagara College has to offer. We take pride in the excellence of our international student services which are all designed to help students succeed. Here is a brief outline of some of the service areas available. HEALTH SERVICES All international students are covered by private health insurance included in tuition. Both campuses offer first aid, immunization, preventative health care and support for mental health. SUPPORT AND ADVISEMENT All NC students have free access to academic advisors, peer mentors, peer tutors, drop-in workshops and specialized programs in leadership, community involvement and more. TRANSITION AND IMMIGRATION SUPPORT We offer a variety of advisement services to help students navigate their transition into Canada and the Niagara College community. Advice relating to study and work permits is also offered free of charge by Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIA). CAREER CENTRE AND EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT A career services team is available to help students with résumé building, interview skills and job search support. ATHLETICS AND RECREATION With newly renovated athletic facilities and top tier varsity and intramural teams, students have access to a variety of sport and recreational programs at both campuses. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES We organize frequent activities and social events to encourage learning outside of the classroom and enable lifelong friendships to flourish.
