2 Page 2 President s Message VOLUM E 8, ISS UE 12 As a way to say thank you to our firefighters working Thanksgiving Day, the CFAAA (via our holiday elves, Steve Jennings, Ron Domke and John Douglas), delivered turkeys to each of the stations. These were delivered a few days early to C Shift, as each station has their own way of preparing their turkeys. After all the planning, the Christmas Parade was cancelled due to winter. The first weekend of Santa s Village was also cancelled. Thank you to all who volunteered to help during the rest of Santa s Village, one of my favorite times of the year. Coming up in January is our Holiday Party. More details to follow. As the year comes to an end, I would like to thank the 2013 board for their support throughout the year. We say goodbye to outgoing board members, Bob Schneider, Donna Leach, Lon Burke and David Gibbs. The 2014 board will consist of Travis Day, Ron Domke, Rich Hardin, David Hodges, Alicia Marshall, Lela Paksoy, Claudia Tatum, Rick Wilder and myself. In addition to the Board, we have many others who I would like to recognize. John Shea, you do such a fantastic job on our wonderful newsletter each month. Rich Hardin and Ron Domke, your support of the TCFAAA program keeps us in the loop with the other organizations. Kari Reed, thank you for sending out our Heartwarmers. David Gibbs, thanks for keeping track of our clothing orders. And Alicia Marshall, for all the time and effort you give the organization in so many areas. As we enter 2014, I hope we can continue to count on the support of the entire CFAAA organization as we continue to accomplish our mission of supporting the Richardson Fire Department. Debbie Conard

3 Page 3 Advisor s Message What's Happening at the Richardson Fire Department? During the recent ICE EVENT! B Shift had 78 calls for service: 1- House Fire 55 - Electrical Investigations 22 - EMS/Motor Vehicle Accidents C Shift had 50 calls for service: Electrical Investigations EMS/Motor Vehicle Accidents New Engine 6, CAFS Pumper is here and is being prepared by Fleet Services. Recently 175 applications were received: 75 - applicants tested 45 - passed the test 9 - are still in the process In November, the Fire Department racked up a total of 3,904 hours of training. A - Shift, Station #6 Captain Dan Jacobs is retiring December 31, His retirement party is December 23rd at the Training Center. Thanks to everyone who have assisted with Santa's Village this year!! 5 Page 5 CPR Update The CPR team got together November 23rd for a refresher and review in order to prepare for the CPR class on December 14th taking place at the new training center. Once the class is completed, 3 more instructors will join the team and Richardson has 12 more citizens trained in CPR. All of the equipment has been moved to the CFAAA Storage closet at the new training center. The equipment includes adult and infant manikins, AED trainers, audio visual, and other miscellaneous CPR supplies. John Shea donated a laptop to house CPR information for the instructors and to play the DVD video used for the classes. Thank you John!
