While IIEST gave a close call by chasing the run but unfortunately ended up in 80 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. It was quite a match only for the bowlers. INDIA SHOWS CLASS AS WEST INDIES CRUMBLE Mriganka Mondal, 4th year, ME, B.Tech The Indian Cricket team under the leadership of Virat Kohli is currently dominating the West Indies Cricket team during the 4 Test Match Bilateral Series Going on in West Indies. India won the First Test by an innings and 92 runs. Virat Kohli once again showed why he is regarded as one of the greatest batsman in today s world of International Cricket as he smoothly cruised to his first majestic Double century. He became the first Indian Captain to score a double century outside the subcontinent. But in spite of such a classy performance, the man who stole the show in the First Test was Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin with his all round show with bat and ball ( Scoring a applaudable 113 runs and a 7 wicket haul for just 83 runs) ensured a smooth victory for India. India continues to hold on to their superb form even during the Second Test. With K.L.Rahul s 158(off 303 balls) and Ashwin s devastating spell of 5 for 52 India has again taken control of this Test. With his outstanding performance Ashwin moved to the Top Spot of ICC TEST RANKINGS for both Bowlers & All-Rounders RIO OLYMPICS 2016 Ayan Majumder, 4th year, CSE, B.Tech The 2016 Summer Olympics is due to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5th to 21st August More than 10,500 athletes are scheduled to take part in this event. 3 TECH-TRICK BBIT Chronicles Page 3 ANDROID N: GOOGLE REVEALS FUTURE OF OS Aniket Mondal, 4th Year,CSE,B.Tech Early developer preview available with better battery-life optimisation, faster app switching, multi-window and night mode was made available by Google for the developers early this Month. Usually Google releases a developer preview of the new version of Android at the company s developer conference, Google I/O, at the end of May. It s designed to allow developers time to test their apps and build new parts to take advantage of new features in Android before its release to smartphone manufacturers in October. This year, however, Google has started two months early, with a developer and beta build that lets users test new features. Head of Android, Hiroshi Lockheimer, said: It s earlier than ever, it s easier to try and we re expanding the ways for you to give us feedback. We want to hear from you and iterate on the platform with you that s what makes Android stronger. Google hopes that the earlier preview will allow greater testing and let it provide the new Android version to manufacturers earlier. It takes several months for most smartphone manufacturers to release the new versions of Android for their existing smartphones. This means that Google s Nexus smartphones and tablets remain the only devices running the new version of Android for months. This new preview strategy also gives an earlier look at what s changing in the most-used mobile operating system in the world. Android N is faster and more efficient, meaning apps will install and update faster without needing a period of optimisation. This should greatly reduce the time required to install Android updates and other upgrades. Google s Project Svelte also been working on reducing the size and weight of Android so that it takes up less storage space and can run on lower-power devices, which should mean more space for apps and media. Those not running Google s Nexus devices will have to wait until the manufacturer of their smartphone to receive Android N in the summer and then push it out to devices, which will likely be in Twitter to keep 140- Malay Acharya, 2nd Year,CSE, B.Tech Twitter will keep the 140-character limit for tweets, chief executive Jack Dorsey said on Friday. "It's staying. It's a good constraint for us and it allows for of-the-moment brevity," Dorsey said on NBC's Today Show when asked whether the limit was staying. Technology news website Re/code reported in January that Twitter was building a new feature that would allow users to post tweets as long as 10,000 characters. Twitter never confirmed that it was considering 10,000- character tweets. SELF DRIVING Shehnaz Mullick,3rd year, cse, B.Tech Singapore is gearing up to become the world s first Smart Nation, with another deal to bring self driven Taxis to the city. The city authorities have signed up a deal with NUTONOMY to test autonomous vehicles. Now Delphi Automotive will also offer a small fleet of Automated taxis to carry passengers around a business park. Automated Taxis by Delphi Automotive

4 Page 4 IMAGINERIUM Volume 1, Issue MISTAKE-The not so perfect symphony One more often than not I have observed you staring blankly at my lips. I was never that gullible to be fooled by the blankness in your eyes. Though they have intrigued me since ages but I have never failed to register those millions unspoken expectations that spilled out of their grey cover of blankness. Today, when we both are at the verge of beginning the end, why don t we first end the beginning? As the mute observers of eternal void stand witness to our saga, and the hurrying footsteps of running out time compose the background score before the curtain call, why don t we for once indulge into some adultery? And then they kissed. The next morning their cold bodies were found locked in an inseparable embrace lying on the bed. Komolika finished reading the story and slammed the bunch of pages on the table so hard that the frail table of the college canteen trembled for approximately 14 seconds before coming to rest. Uff, Somoresh can t you for once take a break from this crusade for Platonic Love. I really don t know whether you are doing this consciously or not but, nowadays, this topic is showing its ugly head in almost every piece of writing of yours. What exactly do you want to prove? If this thing goes on, I am afraid I will have to stop reading your pieces. It really pisses me off. Somoresh took a long drag of his cigarette. Eyes closed, head leaned slightly backwards, as always he kept on listening to Komolika s monologues silently. He waited for her anger graph to take a descending course and just to initiate the process he started humming, Ami rope tomay volabo na, Valobasay volabo; Ami haath diye dwaar khulbo na, gaan diye dwaar kholabo Just shut up, Komolika screamed. Quoting Tagore in every situation throughout the day, wearing Punjabi, keeping unkempt beard, carrying a jhola, smoking joints and making unrealistic stands on impractical issues might have been the quintessential image of so-called intellectuals here. But believe me, this is a huge turn off for me. Especially, when I see you in this image, I keep on wondering why am I with you at all? I just can t understand just cant. Saying this Komolika stormed out of the canteen. Somoresh had finished his Today when we both are at the verge of beginning the end, why don't we first end the beginning cigarette by then, and was humming another song Komolika Chatterjee was a first year Economics Masters student of Jadavpur University and Somoresh Bose, a third year student of Mechanical Engineering department of the same university. Somoresh was like a fish out of water The Busty twelve year old in his engineering department; he was just a good for nothing over there. Everything that the professors tried to teach him went above his head, the books seemed nothing more than junkyard of Latin and Greek symbols to him. He could never fit himself into the parade of Engineers. It was not that he had tried too hard and failed, but mostly it was because he never wanted to see himself over there, he never wanted to see himself as an accomplished engineer. His passion lied somewhere else. Every time he used to pass the Comparative Literature building inside his University campus, he used to stop by its gate and look at the building with silent admiration and longing. To be continued in the next issue Her sinewy arms kept on tugging at her father s tattered shirt, Desperately wailed, foaming from her mouth, All she needed was a morsel of food, well deserved. But wait, she was just twelve and had a father, pervert. Poor as she was, poorer in every sense, But nature had its own conspiracy & bestowed her with a strange abundance. Her breasts bulged beyond her age that drew many a lustful gaze. Flesh overshadowed her innocence, only she remembered her age. A mindfully unmindful touch now and then, & a gaze that oozes lust, A man crippled, drunk & pervert, her father she had to bear. Not a grain at home to eat, not a soul at home to hear her weep, Neither could she kill her hunger, nor could she let her father satiate his thirst. One night she fled, Fled into the world that dazzles, the rat -trap that feeds, the world that eats, Unquestioned she was welcomed there like many a thousand girls.

7 BBIT REC BBIT Chronicles Page 7 To whomever it may concern, BBIT has a strict policy that students cannot arrive or leave the college campus at will. We are not aware of the intentions of the authorities behind enforcing such a rule, but, this rule is considered a big problem among the students. First of all, the college is located in a faraway location and traveling takes time. It is difficult to report every day at 9.50 am sharp. If we miss a train or bus in the morning, we miss college for the whole day. If we don't have working classes in the second half like T.P.O. classes/ library/ student activities/ seminar, we cannot go home. We have to stay in campus till 5.10pm though we don't have classes. If we have some important work later in a day, we cannot attend the first half and leave for our work. We have to skip college for that whole day because most of the time we cannot get a permit for gate pass. We may not like the food at campus canteens or may not be able to afford it. We can't go out to eat something else for a change or something more affordable. Lastly, we are not in primary school anymore, we are not children! Why can't we enter and leave the campus at will?! I have never heard of any college where this kind of a rule is applied. My apologies if any sentiments were hurt through our opinion, but, this is our voice, this is what we want. Let us bunk classes like normal college kids! - From a concerned BBITian. (3rd Year, B.Tech) TO Whomever it may concern, Dear sir/madam, I am a student of budge budge institute of technology. I am studying B.Tech in electrical engineering. At first I want to thank you for giving me a chance to write something in our newspaper.in this letter I am writing my short query about our college.. In every engineering college they have a T-shirt in their student s uniform.in our college we also have a proper college uniform. And I also agree that it is nice for me but only in winter because we have full shirt. In summer full shirts are not comfortable for us. So I want toll you that if our college agree with this post and give us a permission of a t-shirt during summer, we will be very much thankful. Thanking you Name and Other details withheld, B.TECH, 1ST YEAR To, Whomever it may concern, I am a student of B.Tech second year (lateral). I am studying in this college for the last three and half years, during this time I have applied for many times for issuing a Railway Concession form from the office. Every time they had said, that it is not presently available with them, they will provide me with the form very soon. But even today I haven't received it. Haven t they yet got hold of the said form? The to and fro train fare is 30 rupees per day, which adds up to 270 rupees per month. It is really difficult for me to pay that amount. I would be highly obliged if the concerned authorities look into this matter at their earliest. Thanking you, Anonymous, A Distressed BBITian
