Prayer of Responsibility Dear God In this Month of Remembrance, the example of holy saints, & courageous men and women from the past, inspire me to make choices which are life-giving and good. Teach me to see in every circumstance, an opportunity to give my best, And guide me to fulfill my promises and commitments through service to my family, my school and my parish. When I fail to live up to my responsibilities help me to learn from my mistakes and correct the things I have done. Teach me to live in the Spirit of Jesus whose Responsibility Remembrance - in this month of remembrance, we honour those whose strong sense of moral responsibility led them to give the very best of themselves in the pursuit of world freedom, peace and justice. As Church, we also honour the saints - whose faith motivated and empowered them in diverse ways, to live lives of initiative and responsibility through committed service and prayer. responsibility for us gave rise to our freedom from sin and the promise of eternal life. Progress Reports Progress Reports for students in JK to Grade 8 will be sent home on Wednesday November 16th. These reports are meant to focus on your child s learning skills and the progress they have made to this point in the year. Interviews will be held the evening of November 17th and the morning of November 18th. Parent Teacher Interviews will be booked on line this year. Watch for details coming home next week. Parent Council Meeting Monday November 7:00 pm Everyone is Welcome! Please join us as we celebrate our faith together as a school community. Daily Mass Friday November 11, 9:00 am School Assembly Friday November 1:00 pm Did you know that you can subscribe to get electronic bus cancellation notifications? And that you must re-subscribe every school year. subscriptions are purged each summer and subscribers are asked to re-subscribe to ensure we have an accurate list of addresses each year. Anyone can subscribe for notifications for general notices, school closures and route cancellations & delays. You must first confirm that you have a valid address. To subscribe go to and click on Delays & Cancellations (top right corner), then click on the Subscriptions icon, Under Other Options click on Subscribe. Enter your address and press the Subscribe button. Our automated system will send you an confirmation containing a link that you will need to click to complete the subscription process. When you receive that confirmation , click on the Confirm link and enter a password beside New Password, then enter it again. You should receive a message on-screen thanking you for confirming your subscription and telling you can now login to manage your subscriptions. 3 3 The is coming to Holy Family School from Monday Nov. 14 Friday Nov. 18 inclusive. We invite you to come and view some of the latest in children s books. Each child s name will be entered into the many door prizes we provide at the fair with the Grand Prize of $25.00 worth of books from the fair. Night till 7:00) Location: Holy Family Library Financial Support for School Trips School trips are wonderful educational opportunities for all of our students. Throughout the school grades there are a number of free opportunities for our students, but often time a school trip comes with a financial cost. At Holy Family, we want to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in their class trip. If you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to cover the cost of the school trip, please let your child s teacher know, or the office know. We would like to help out and ensure that your child is able to take part in every possible opportunity. VOLUNTEERS WANTED If you have a few hours to spare morning or afternoon, we would appreciate your help at our Book Fair. Please let Mrs. Patterson or Ms. Millen know when you are available. Thank you again for your support. The Catholic Parent Involvement Committee of the BGCDSB has put together a collection of parent sessions to be held across our BGCDSB Schools throughout the school year. Topics include: Event + Meal Planning; Supporiting Youth Emotional Well-Being, School Heroes Unite, Elementary Workshop + Kindergarten; Families Who Play Together and Internet Safety (At Holy Family). Every family is invited to participate in all or some of the workshops. Parents will receive a passport to have punched at each event + have chances to win fabulous prizes at the May Session. Check out the brochure and plan to attend some very informative events!

We would like to ask your patience as we resolve our phone issues. Both Wightman and Bell Canada are working on our phone line issues and we are hoping for a quick resolve to this situation. If you are unable to get a hold of us or would prefer to Mrs. Patterson at joanne_patterson@bgcdsb.org with your safe arrival (late or absent) details for the next little, please do so.
