2 Page 2 Chamber News Update Below are the nominees for your 2015 Board of Directors. Please elect four (4) of the six (6) nominees listed. You may submit your votes by mail to 51 S. Third St., or by to stegenchamber@sbcglobal.net. All votes must be in by April 7, 2015 to be tabulated. The individuals elected to the board will be announced on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Dr. Jeff Lindsey Jeff Lindsey has a total of 27 years of experience in education, having served as a HS math teacher and HS principal. He also was Superintendent of the Van Buren R-1 School District for 12 years before coming to Ste. Genevieve in This is his first year as Superintendent of the Ste. Genevieve R-II School District after serving two years as the Assistant Superintendent. Jeff has Bachelor s, Master s, and Specialist s degrees from Missouri State University and earned his Doctorate from Saint Louis University in Currently a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board, Jeff would like the opportunity to continue to represent the school district in that capacity. He is also a member of the local Rotary Club and the Mississippi Lime Community Advisory Panel. Jeff and his wife Angela, a retired teacher, reside in rural Ste. Genevieve County. They have a grown daughter, Jennifer, who lives in Chicago. Betty Arnold I am excited to have been asked to be a candidate for the Chamber Board of Directors. I am the office manager at Physicians Health and Rehab and the President/Owner of our family business, Arnold Masonry. I am very active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary on Local, District, State (Past State President) and National levels (Past National Council Member) and work for entitlements due to our veterans and their families in any way I can. I am a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Woman's Club, Elks, and am the Secretary/Treasurer for the SEMO Mason Contractors Association, as well as the Secretary for the Ste. Genevieve Group Home. I serve as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for the Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church and am a past Chamber Board member. Busy, you bet, but I enjoy everything that I do and feel that we all must contribute in some way to the best of our abilities to make this world a better place. I ask for your support and vote to allow me to represent the members of our Chamber on the Board of Directors. There are exciting things happening in our community and I promise to listen to your concerns and ideas and will project that information to the best of my ability to assure fair representation as we work together as a TEAM to help Ste. Genevieve grow and become even better that it is today. Jason Schott My name is Jason Schott and I am a life long resident of Ste. Genevieve County. I was born in Ste. Genevieve and raised in Bloomsdale, the son of Candy and the late Randy Schott. I am married to my wife, Sarah, and we have a son, Braden who is 10. I have been in the law enforcement field for 19 years. I am currently employed with the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office and hold the position of Major/Chief Deputy. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Lindenwood University, where I graduated with honors. I am in my second year as Chairman of the board for the Ste. Genevieve County Board for the Developmentally Disabled and have been on this board for 6 years. I am in my second year as a board member of the Ste. Genevieve Community Center. I sat on the TIF Commission for the Ozora TIF District and the Ste. Genevieve Downtown Renewal Area TIF. I also sat on the Ste. Genevieve Strategic Planning Committee that was tasked with laying out new long range goals for the City of Ste. Genevieve. I am also spearheading the development and opening of the Challenger Baseball Park at the Community Center. I want to be a part of the Chamber Board because I believe this community has a lot to offer and want to be a part of seeing and helping it grow. I learned very quickly, with my involvement in building the Challenger Baseball Field, that Ste. Genevieve wants to see development and growth. They want to see commerce and individuals come to Ste. Genevieve to visit, tour or possibly stay. The Chamber of Commerce has a very important role in this area and I feel with my background and my current involvement in the community, I could help add to the innovative thinking the Chamber already has. Thank you for the honor of being nominated to the Chamber and I hope to be able to work with the board in the future.

3 Matt Helms My name is Matt Helms, and I grew up in a small farming community located in West Central Illinois. In 1995, I received my undergraduate degree in Biology/Chemistry from Blackburn University in Carlinville, IL. While in school, I played football for 4 years, was a member of the Student Council, and managed the Campus Maintenance department. (Blackburn is a work/study school; meaning the students are required to perform all of the campus duties) From , I worked for Safety-Kleen Corporation at their fuel blending facility in Clarksville, MO. During this time, I worked as a Chemist, Lab Manager, and Environmental Manager. Holcim offered me a position in 2001 to work in their Environmental Department. I was employed at the Holcim Clarksville Facility for 7 years in various roles and finished out the last 3 years at the facility as Maintenance Manager. During my time with Safety-Kleen and Holcim in Clarksville, I was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce for both the cities of Clarksville and Louisiana, and I represented the companies in the local Rotary Club. These are just a few of the many community functions that I supported during my time in Clarksville. In 2008, Holcim provided me and my family an opportunity in Mexico. Holcim was building a new Green Field plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and asked that I be part of the project/plant team. My role was to oversee the development of the plant organization, quality control of the mechanical/electrical installations, and dry commissioning of the plant. Once the Hermosillo Plant was commissioned, Holcim approached me with the opportunity to move back to the Ste Genevieve Plant as the Area Manager for Maintenance, Reliability, Power, Controls, and Projects. This offer was beneficial both professionally and personally. This is the flag ship plant of the cement world, and it is located directly between my family in Pleasant Hill, IL and my wife s family in Dexter, MO. We accepted the offer and moved into Ste Genevieve in the Fall of My wife and I have always represented our employers in the communities in which we live and operate. I believe that it is our responsibility as citizens and corporate citizens to support our community efforts to sustain the local heritage and make the community an even better place for future generations. For this reason, I ask that you accept my nomination to the Ste Genevieve Chamber Board of Directors. Thank You for Your Consideration. Nichole French Hi! My name is Nichole French and I am the co-owner of Sweet Things Sweet Shop. I grew up in Viburnum, MO, a small town of about 800 people an hour and a half west of Ste. Genevieve, and graduated from Iron Co. C- 4 in In the fall of 2007 I moved to St. Louis and began my college career at Missouri Baptist University. While attending MoBap, I majored in Early Childhood Education and played volleyball for three years. In 2009, after my parents retired, my family relocated to Ste. Gen. It wasn t until December of 2011, when I finished my degree, that I moved home and began living here full-time. For the next year and a half, when I wasn t traveling and living the after-college dream, I put in many hours subbing at St. Agnes, Valle Catholic, and Ste. Gen schools, in hopes of landing a full-time position. While searching for my career job, I happened upon a new business opportunity and October 1st, 2013, my mother and I became the new owners of Sweet Things Sweet Shop! I love my job and my store I ve worked hard to make it my own! Each day brings new challenges, problems, joys, etc. but I wouldn t have it any other way. Since becoming part-owner of Sweet Things, I have also had the opportunity to get involved in the revitalization of downtown Ste. Gen. I am an active member of the Promotions Committee of the Downtown Renewal Project and I enjoy being involved in everything from monthly Art Walks to big events such as the Chocolate Walk and Jour de Fete. If I were elected to the chamber board, I would continue to work on revitalizing the downtown area and spreading the word about how great our small town is. One event that I would love to be involved with would be the Summer Concert Series. I love watching and listening to live music and would greatly enjoy being a part of the planning and promoting of that event. Ste. Genevieve has a lot to offer young or old there s something for everyone! Rosie Hughey My name is Rose Hughey. I am a lifetime resident of Ste. Gen. I have been married 38 years, with three children and four grandchildren. I am a member of the Catholic Church and also a member of several organizations. I love music, gardening and people. I have owned and opperated Rosie s Posies for four years. Being active in our communiyt I think I would be able to bring some new ideas to the Chamber of Commerce.

Directly from our by-laws Voting privileges are based on the number of employees within a business as follows: From 1 to 100 employees - one voting membership; From 101 to 200 employees - two voting memberships; From 201 to 300 employees - three voting memberships; 301 and over four voting memberships. WATCH YOUR MAIL FOR YOUR 2015 MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS. Membership must be paid to attend Annual Gala in April! Additional voting memberships may be purchased at the individual membership rate but no entity will be given more than four total votes. Individual Membership - This voting membership is available to an individual who is retired, not engaged in business activities or who is an employee of a Chamber member. Associate Membership - This non-voting membership is available to an individual who is retired, not engaged in business activities or who is an employee of a Chamber member. This membership is not available to sole proprietors, individuals, corporations or partnerships engaged in business activities. Government office holders, governmental entities, notfor-profit organizations, churches, schools and farms may enroll as the sole proprietor rate and will be entitled to one vote.
