Your generosity allows us to help the neediest families in our community. We provide food to over 200 families each month. Food collections are held after Masses on the first weekend of each month. Watch for our full-page flyer in the bulletin the last week of every month.

8 Parent Reminders Carline Information A reminder to parents that everyone needs to practice safe and considerate driving during drop-off and pickup. Please DO NOT speed through the parking lot. Also note that all lines have a waiting order. Parents are not allowed to skip other cars who have been waiting. Find the back of the line where your student is to be dropped off or picked up. Also, now that we are a couple of weeks into school, walk-ups are no longer allowed, except for special circumstances. Walk-ups were allowed ONLY on the first day of school to get students accustomed to and familiar with school procedures. New Policy: The end of the school day is just as important as the start of the school day as we are setting students up for tomorrow s success at the end of each day. For that reason, there will be no early checkouts 30 minutes prior to dismissal, 2:25pm M,T,Th,F 1:30pm on Wednedays Parents are NOT allowed to park at Florida Dentistry. You can be towed. Primary: Primary will utilize the multiple line system that has been in place. First arrivals will be placed in line and the first to go. Next arrivals will follow suit. Elementary: Cars should utilize both lanes in the morning and in the afternoon. Middle School: The carline should be single file in the mornings. Please DO NOT drop students off either in front of the gym or at the crossroads in front of the outside basketball courts. ALWAYS drive forward to the picnic tables. This is for the safety of our students. You have time! Tardies do not start until 7:55. Thank You! Both lanes will be open in the afternoon. Extended Day: Please DO NOT double park in the circular driveway at Parish Hall when picking up your children

9 Student Absenses Volunteers Needed Volunteers are needed for ice cream sales on Fridays during the student lunch hours 10:30am -1:30pm. All volunteers must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Diocese. Please contact Mrs. Hildner, in the school office if you can help.

10 The Leader In Me Review Drop Everything And Lead The Leader In Me Ask your child about DEAL Drop Everything And Lead. The whole school focuses on Leadership first thing every Monday morning we drop everything and LEAD! When we set goals and work to achieve them, we need to celebrate! The students worked on putting something they could celebrate in the My Celebration tab in their Leadership Notebooks. They are also tracking their personal and academic Wildly Important Goals. Set Your Calendars to Attend This Year s Parent Training for the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People! Each class will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Your children can go to Aftercare for the hour for FREE! There will be yummy refreshments and lots of community building. Please plan to attend! The research shows that if you are reinforcing the concepts at home, it is more likely that they will become HABITS! October 4 November 1 December 6 January 10 February 7 March 14 April 4 Habit 1: Be Proactive We asked the students to use proactive language instead reactive language. Reactive people make choices based on impulse. They are like a can of soda. When life shakes them up a bit, the pressure builds and they suddenly explode. Proactive people make choices based on values. They think before they act. They recognize they can t control what happens to them, but they can control what they do about it. Unlike reactive people who are full of carbonation, proactive people are like water. Shake them up all you want, take off the lid and nothing. No fizzing, no bubbling, no pressure. They stay calm, cool and in control. 12 From the Music Department Piano Lessons Piano lessons offered once again to BT students and/or parents by Mrs. Jene Bean. Piano lessons are private, once a week for half hour or one hour sessions, at my home in NE Ocala. I have taught at BT for many years. However, I am only teaching at home this year and am taking a limited number of students. Would prefer students with or without previous lessons. However, they must be ages 7 and up and willing and able to practice at least 30 minutes a day. It is a fact that piano lessons improve concentration, I.Q., and help with math, history, as well as self-confidence. I enjoy teaching all types of music, and give the students a well rounded knowledge of the subject. If interested, please call me at , or (cell). Lesson costs are $20.00 for half hour and $40.00 for one hour. Special rates for more than 2 children per family.

14 Altar Servers Sacraments Attention All Students in Need of Off Year Sacraments (RCIC) After submitting and registering for the off-year Sacraments, Wednesday afternoons a class will be offered in which students will be picked up in front of the BT Elementary bldg. and taken to the Community Center for approximately one hour of instruction. This will begin Wednesday, September 5 th from 2 p.m. 3 p.m. Upon completion please specify if your student will be picked up from there or needs to be taken to After Care. IT S NOT TOO LATE to still sign up. If you have any questions you can contact Cyndi Sieger; ext or csieger@blessedtrinity.org. Students Receiving the Sacraments at Blessed Trinity Mass participation is a big part of the faith formation of a child. Students in our G.I.F.T. program and Blessed Trinity School who are receiving a sacrament this year are asked to attend Mass weekly. After Mass STUDENTS will be asked to have a Mass Attendance form signed by the officiating priest or deacon. These forms can be picked up upon leaving the church from the bulletin cart. Please make sure the date, your name, and the teacher are listed. These forms will be turned in on a weekly basis to your classroom teacher or G.I. F.T. teacher. If you are visiting a church other than Blessed Trinity, please have a bulletin from that church signed by the officiating priest and return it to your teacher. Teachers will be monitoring attendance beginning the weekend of, 9/8 th and 9/9 th.

16 Confirmation Children s Ministry Children's Ministry is looking for volunteers to help spread the weekly gospel message to our youngest parishioners. The commitment is approximately 1-2 times per month during the 11:00 mass. Volunteers are needed to help lead the weekly discussion (teaching materials are provided) and to help supervise. 18 EDGE Near and Far September Edge Meeting Friday September 14th 6:30-9:00 in the Parish Hall Our first official meeting of the school year is Friday night, 9/14! We will have fun games, a great lesson, and tons of friends! The meeting will explore Solidarity and our call to action, to love our neighbor, and to help those in need, both near and far. Be doers of the words, and not hearers only James 1:22 Many youth in our community are without good shoes, so as a sign of Solidarity, Edge will be collecting tennis shoes for distribution to needy youth through Kimberly s Center. If you are able to contribute, please bring a new pair of close toed athletic shoes for children or teens. (If contributing, please provide new shoes only, not sandals, from stores such as Walmart or Payless. All sizes needed!) Come prepared to laugh, snack, and maybe get messy (no dinner will be served so please eat before the meeting)! Bring all of your middle school friends. EDGE is open to ANY middle school student interested in learning more about walking in the faith, regardless of school, church, or religion. EDGE is run by volunteers ignited with the desire to help middle school youth learn to lean on each other and God during these difficult years of pressure to become something other than what God intends them to be.
