1 GRUNDY COUNTY EXTENSION & OUTREACH GRUNDY COUNTY NEWS FALL into 4-H! Andrea Traeger GRUNDY COUNTY EXTENSION& OUTREACH County 4-H & Youth Coordinator I can t believe how fast September went by! I had the opportunity to spend time with my friends across the state at the Fall 4-H Team Conference in Ames and at Gear Tech training in Fayette. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with other county 4-H youth coordinators and learn about all the great things happening across the state. I have lots of new ideas and am looking forward to FALL - ing back into 4-H with all of you! WHAT S INSIDE: National 4-H Week Halloween Party Record Books Scrapbook Workshop 4-H Leader Team & Volunteer News Calendar of Events I would like to take a moment to introduce our new Grundy County Extension & Outreach Administrator, Shari Sell-Bakker. Shari is originally from Glenwood in Southwest Iowa and moved to Dike five years ago with her husband Jarrod Bakker, a Grundy County 4-H Alumni who grew up in the Dike. Some of you may know Shari from the FC Coop where she worked for a couple years. Shari & Jarrod have been our swine superintendents for the past two years at the Grundy County Fair. They have two boys, Caeden and Cooper, and live on an acreage just outside of Dike where they also raise hogs. Part of Shari s job will be to help me with preparations for 4-H events and reach out to current, new and potential 4-H ers in the community. We have many exciting events planned in the office already and are looking forward to seeing all of you there! Please be sure to check out our new ISU Grundy County Extension Facebook page and the Grundy County, IA 4-H facebook page. We have also updated our website: Check the website for updates on ALL events from 4-H to families programming, to financial planning. Please welcome Shari to our county! We are continuing to plan for the H year. If you are interested in learning about a certain project area or if you know someone who might like to plan or help with a county event or workshop I would love to hear from you. Please me at traegera@iastate.edu I am looking forward to a great 4-H year with you and your family!
