Take a moment to get inspired by the fun party ideas included with this sheet and fill out the attached Party Donation Form. 4 happening at the fun fair HOST A PARTY TO BENEFIT THE PTO! Find a Co-Host (or two or three) Planning a party is 1 a great way to spend extra 2 time with your friends. Determine who the party is for (adults only, whole families, or just kids the 3 4 choice is yours) and decide how many spaces to offer. Pick a theme, venue, date (between March 15 and September 30) and time for your party. Fill out the attached Party Donation Form and return it to the office by Feb 27th, or it to katehaarvei@gmail.com. Harvey Oak Park Illinois ph: fax: February 2018 District 97 is required by state and federal law to administer the PARCC assessment to all students in grades 3 through 8 during the designated six-week testing window. This year, the testing window will take place March 5-April 20. The law also states that any student in those grades who is absent during the testing window, but returns to school before testing is completed, must be administered a make-up test. In addition, state law requires that scores received on state assessments administered in the elementary grade levels (K-8) must be maintained in a student s temporary record. Below is a statement of our guidelines for students who choose not to take the PARCC test. This statement reflects the practice we implemented in previous years. As is required by law, every student who is eligible to take the PARCC assessment will receive a test ticket or test booklet. However, in accordance with our practice, anyone who elects not to take the assessment will be permitted to read a book after the teacher has read the directions to the class and students have begun the testing process. Since students will not be allowed to go to the school library during the administration of the test, we ask that you please make sure your child brings her book to class during the PARCC testing window (March 5, 2018 to April 20, 2018). You can help your child do his/her best on the test by: Making sure that your Whittier scholar attends school and is here on time. Ensuring that your child gets a good night s sleep the night before testing Providing breakfast on the mornings of testing Reminding your child to ask the teacher questions if he/she does not understand the test directions Letting your child know that you have confidence in his/her ability to do his/her best Advising your child not to worry about the test I Believe in my SELFIE! If your child is absent and misses a session, make-up testing will be administered through April 16th. To ensure a quiet testing environment, we do not allow the intercom to be used throughout the PARCC testing period. If families drop off items for their child, students will be able to retrieve them from the office during the lunch hour or at the end of the school day.
