Any resident having an issue or problem that needs to be discussed with managers, please call Faye at to set up an appointment on a Tuesday or Wednesday between the hours of 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. COMING DECEMBER 1 EXTRA LARGE DUMPSTER! We are providing an extra-large dumpster for large items (not normal trash) such as mattresses, couches, old furniture, tables and chairs. All things sitting outside your home that are not permitted must be disposed of while we have this dumpster on property or you will have to dispose of them at your own expense. If you have any refrigerators or scrap metal items do not put these items in the extra dumpster but see Jay or Michelle about disposal of these types of items. We are trying to make our community look as beautiful as possible and do not want to make it look bad with these items sitting outside your home. The dumpster will be on property as of December 1 st, if you have items for the dumpster, you need to contact the office and make an appointment so we can arrange to have a staff member present during the time you want to dump your items. There s nothing quite like December in Florida! GIVING TREE For those who may be new to our community then let us explain what a giving tree is: We have sent out forms for all families to write down the names of their children who are 14 years old and younger. (Those over 14 years of age do not qualify.) Once we have received all the completed forms back, we take the age of the girl and put it on a pink ornament and place it on the tree and we take the age of the boy and put it on a blue ornament and place it on the tree. Once this is done, any resident can come into the office and pull a tag off the tree (boy or girl) and buy a gift for that age that is listed on the tag that they pulled and wrap the gift and put the tag back on the gift. Then they bring the gift to the office and place it under the Giving Tree until the day Santa hands out the gift to the child. Remember these Giving Tree Dates: November 18 th Last day for forms to be returned to the office. December 1 st You can start removing a boy/girl tag from tree. December 13 th All gifts must be back to the office December 16 th Santa will be giving out the gifts. 3 36th ANNUAL SANTA FEST AND DOWNTOWN TAMPA CHRISTMAS PARADE December 2 Parade steps off at 11:00. The parade will begin at Morgan Street and Madison Street travel west on Madison Street to Ashley Drive, turn north and end at Ashley Drive and Cass Street. Santa Fest Noon - 4 p.m. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park Fun for the young and the young at heart! Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is transformed into a winter wonderland. Activities Free photos with Santa Claus Continuous holiday entertainment Make-n-take holiday crafts Hands-on games and activities December 1, p.m. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park Attend Tampa's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on the first Friday in December in beautiful Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. The evening will include a countdown to light the tree with Mayor Buckhorn and a free movie in the park. Admission is free. Blankets, low back chairs, coolers and dogs on leashes are allowed. Concessions will be available. Glass and alcohol are prohibited. CELEBRITY AUTO FESTIVAL January 13 th 8:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Where did the X in Xmas come from? Contrary to what many people think, the X is not a way to get away from associating Christ with Christmas. Pearl Harbor Day December 7 th December 7 th is designated at Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. It s a day to commemorate more than 2,000 U.S. citizens who were killed and more than 1,000 who were wounded when the Imperial Japanese Navy and Air Force attacked U.S. armed forces stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
