3 Inpatient DPC Rotations at UHN Inpatient rotations at UHN will typically consist of two 5-week rotations in a row (10 weeks total) in order to support continuity of student learning at the hospital site. The two rotations may be in a different practice area. At TG, TW, and PM, rotations will be on two different units with two different preceptors from the same clinical team At TRI, rotations will be 10 weeks on the same unit with the same preceptor Exceptions: certain specialty rotations (e.g. Antimicrobial Stewardship) are offered as 5-week rotations On RxPreceptor, a clinical site leader may be listed as the rotation preceptor for many available rotations. In that case, the placement will be with a pharmacist on that site leader s clinical team and will be assigned closer to the rotation date.

6 Prior to your rotation: What to Expect: The education coordinator will you 1-2 weeks before your rotation, providing you with information about student orientation and other requirements for your first day at UHN Register online as a UHN pharmacy student and complete required online modules Contact your preceptor at least 1 week prior to the rotation and complete any required readings as advised by your preceptor What day one looks like: Orientation to UHN with the Education Coordinator & staff TG/Pharmacy Department tour, provision of ID badges Arrange to meet your preceptor on Day 2 of the rotation

7 Other Student Activities: Attend UHN Continuing Education events Resident and other student presentations, clinical sharing UHN CE Calendar: Students are expected to deliver at least one presentation in each block. Presentation opportunities include: Student teaching Presentations to staff pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, medical residents, etc. Journal club to staff IPE Sessions Structured IPE Sessions may be available during your rotation
