1 Ministry Openings Featured Mercy Ministry Position: Faculty, Department of Occupational Therapy Location: Misericordia University, Dallas, PA Seeking a faculty member for this full-time (10 month), tenure-track position beginning August Will teach courses in the department of occupational therapy, which includes a five-year professional entry-level master s degree program and a weekend college program for individuals already possessing a baccalaureate degree in another discipline. The program also offers a postprofessional pediatric certificate program, a post-professional master s degree and a post-professional clinical doctorate in occupational therapy. Must have an academic doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D, D.Sc.) from an accredited institution, possess NBCOT certification and be eligible for PA licensure, have a minimum of five years clinical experience, and have excellent communication skills. Those with a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) will be considered. Expertise in psychosocial dysfunction, adult physical rehabilitation, and geriatric practice are preferred. 2 Featured Mercy Ministry Position: Assistant Professor, Chemistry Location: Misericordia University, Dallas, PA Seeking a qualified candidate for this tenure-track faculty position to begin August 15, 2014, in inorganic chemistry. Will teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in general chemistry and introductory chemistry courses to students primarily in health sciences curricula. Will also teach inorganic chemistry for juniors and seniors in chemistry and biochemistry programs and should be prepared to engage undergraduate students in research projects. The ability to help develop and teach new core course offerings, such as an introductory forensics courses, would lend additional weight to the candidate s application. 4 Featured Mercy Ministry Position: Coordinator of Enrollment Support Services Will oversee all components of the admission campus guest program and ensure exceptional service for visiting prospective students and families. Supervises the admissions office coordinator and trains all student representatives who assist with the program. Main responsibilities include: managing reservations and visit schedules, communicating with all parties participating in the visits (such as faculty and current students), serving as the primary greeter for visiting students and families, and completing post-visit surveys. Will also implement an overnight program for visiting students, a new storyboarded campus tour program, and a plan to increase visits. Must have a bachelor s degree and at least one year of event management, special programming, admissions counseling and/or interviewing experience. Will tutor students, staff, faculty, and visitors in grammar, structure, and writing mechanics and APA and MLA format. Trains peer writing tutors to develop their skills, conducts training sessions and workshops, creates and maintains instructional and resource materials, and collaborates with other academic departments to offer assistance. Will teach one section of writing in fall semesters. Must have at least a master s degree in English or a related field, excellent organizational and planning skills, and experience in teaching and/or tutoring; experience working with ESL preferred. 5 Featured Mercy Ministry Position: Administrative Assistant Provides ongoing secretarial support to the dean, division chairpersons, program coordinators, faculty, and the executive board members of the student advisory board of the school of arts and sciences. Manages information on the school portal, answers phone calls, writes letters and s, maintains files and appointments, and makes travel arrangements. Assists the directors of the general education committee and the honors program, compiles reports related to school business, and performs other administrative duties as needed. May supervise students and other temporary or part-time employees in the department. 6 Position: Vice-President, Ministry Formation Location: Catholic Health East System Office, Newtown Square, PA Supports and advances formation throughout CHE Trinity Health in accord with the vision of the Sponsor and the organizational commitment to formation at all levels. This individual provides leadership for CHE Trinity Health formation programs, and collaborates to develop a coherent, integrated and consistent approach to formation that serves the CHE Trinity Health Mission and Strategic Direction and the specific competencies of leaders and associates. He or she has oversight of all formation programs, assuring consistency in content development, pedagogical design, facilitation and assessment. Responsibilities include leading the integration, assessment and ongoing development of formation programs including executive formation, manager and director formation, formation of clinicians, colleagues, and local Boards. The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in theology from a Catholic school of theology and possess excellent teaching and facilitation skills. He or she will have particular knowledge of resources and strategies to foster spiritual development, be aware of trends in ecclesiology and theology of ministry that impact the formation of lay leaders, be skillful in utilizing adult learning strategies and adapting both content and methods to develop and deliver programs that meet the diverse learning styles and needs of various groups.
