1 University of Cincinnati Reunion Weekend 2013 Schedule of Events Thursday, April 11 Cecil Striker Society Lecture Kresge Auditorium 4:00-6:00pm Civil War Medicine presented by Peter D Onofrio, PhD Join the Henry R. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions for this informative lecture. Welcome Reception Kingsgate Marriott, Bearcat Lounge 6:00-8:00pm Kick off Reunion Weekend by reuniting with fellow alumni and college representatives over cocktails and hors d oevures. Friday, April 12 Registration 8:00am noon Alumni and guests will pick up their nametags and welcome packet during this time. Breakfast 8:00 9:00am Begin the day with a hot breakfast buffet. Dean s Report/College Update 8:30-9:00am Thomas F. Boat, MD, Christian R. Holmes Professor and Dean, and Vice President for Health Affairs will present a college update and provide his vision for the future of the University of Cincinnati. Student Experience 9:00-9:30am Hear from current medical students on the experiences they are having outside the classroom with patients and community organizations.

2 College Tours 9:45 11:30am Take a trip down memory lane and see what is new on a walking tour of the college. The tour will stop by the library, surgical amphitheatre, University of Cincinnati Medical Center ER, Simulation Lab, and other stops along the way. Alumni and Medical Student BBQ 11:30am 1:00pm Join your classmates and current medical students for a BBQ to share your medical school memories and here about the memories the current students are making. College representatives will also be around including the infamous IvaDean. Department of Neurology Highlight 1:00-1:30pm Join Joseph Broderick, MD `82 Chair, Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine for a brief overview on the department. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions Tour 1:30-2:00pm The Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions is one of the premier medical and health history centers in the United States. The Winkler Center is a medical archive, library and exhibit facility that encourages visitors and researchers to explore the Cincinnati area s rich medical history and to discover the people who have contributed to important advances in medicine, nursing, and pharmaceutical sciences. Class Parties Hilton Netherland Plaza 6:30 11:00pm Enjoy a private party just for your medical school class. Prior to your individual class party join all alumni celebrating reunion in the historical Hall of Mirror for a cocktail reception and short program to recognize the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients and the gold and silver classes. 3 Saturday, April 13 Breakfast Kingsgate Marriott, Ballroom 8:00 9:00am Start the day off right with a hot and healthy breakfast. Estate and Planned Giving Seminar Kingsgate Marriott, Ballroom 9:00 9:45pm Jeff Dundon, J.D., LL.M. will present an update on the ever changing rules of estate and planned giving. Cincinnati Children s Hospital Medical Center Tour 10:00 11:30am Join Cincinnati Children s Hospital Medical Center representatives for a tour of their amazing facilities. Bus transportation will be provided to and from Children s for the tour. Skyline and Graeter s Luncheon Myer Alumni Center Main Campus 11:30am 1:00pm All UC alumni are invited to savor the favors of Cincinnati and hear from UC leadership. Bus transportation will be provided to the Alumni Center from the Kingsgate Marriott. Main Campus Bus Tour 1:00-1:30pm Upon departing from the Alumni Center the bus will travel through UC s main campus to showcase the ever changing landscape and architecture. College Tour 2:00-3:00pm If you missed the college tour on Friday morning do not miss this opportunity to take a trip down memory lane and see what is new within the college. The tour will stop by the library, surgical amphitheatre, Simulation Lab, Henry R. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions and other stops along the way. Night on the Town 6:30pm-11:00pm The Banks Downtown Cincinnati Downtown Cincinnati is transforming and this is your opportunity to see what the city has to offer. Restaurants at The Banks have made special arrangements just for the Reunion Weekend experience. Bus transportation will be provided to and from the Kingsgate Marriott and Hilton Netherland Plaza. 4 Class Parties Friday, April 12 6:30-11:00pm All class parties will take place in private dining rooms at the Hilton Netherland Plaza. Prior to the individual parties, you are invited to a cocktail reception and dinner by the bite in the historic Hall of Mirrors at the Hilton Netherland Plaza. During this time the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Awards will be presented and the 50 th and 25 th reunion classes will be recognized. From this reception alumni and guests will proceed to private rooms just for your graduation class.
