3 Brief History of the University December 8, 2014: Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, signed the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences Law 2014 March 2015: Pioneer Vice-Chancellor and Registrar Appointed The Medical Village was integrated into the University and formed its take-off administrative and clinical resource base 3

April 22, 2015: UNIMED was recognised by the NUC as the 40 th State University and the 139 th University in Nigeria November 1, 2015: Inauguration of University s Governing Council January 10, 2016: Pioneer students came into residence March 5, 2016: 1 st Matriculation of 192 pioneers students April 11, 2017: 2 nd Matriculation of 492 pioneers students 4
