Executive Director, UT Alumni Association Responsible for the overall administration and management of alumni relations and fund-raising activities including athletic fund-raising for the University of Tennessee System. The System includes the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center (Memphis), the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, the University of Tennessee Martin, the Institute for Agriculture, the Institute for Public Service and the Space Institute; Serve as a member of the executive management team and report directly to the President of the System; As President and CEO, report to a 35-person Foundation Board of Directors; As Executive Director, report to the 35-person Board of Governors of the UT Alumni Association; responsible for the management of an annual operating budget of $32 million and a staff of 230. o Secured in excess of $200 million in each of the last three fiscal years, 2015-$303 million; 2016-$242 million; and 2017-$221 million. o Launched the first phase of a system-wide comprehensive campaign with our flagship campus going public with a $1.1 billion effort with over $800 million secured. o Recruited and hired vice chancellors for development at our flagship campus, UT Knoxville and our medical campus, UT Health Sciences Center. o Developed a new funding model to support the operations of our Foundation and Alumni Association. ROSE-HULMAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Terre Haute, Indiana Vice President for Institutional Advancement Responsible for the overall administration and management of alumni relations, constituent relations, fund-raising including athletic fund-raising and special events programs for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology; Served as a member of the executive management team and reported directly to the President of the Institute; Managed a budget of $3 million and a staff of 25. SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY CARBONDALE, Carbondale, Illinois SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, Carbondale, Illinois Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement and Chief Executive Officer Responsible for the overall administration and management of alumni relations, constituent relations, fund-raising including athletic fund-raising and special events programs for Southern Illinois University; Served as a member of the executive management team of the University and reported directly to the Chancellor; as Chief Executive Officer reported to the Board of Directors of the SIU Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association; Had responsibility for the management of all Foundation activities including a staff of 100, an annual budget of $7 million, investments of $120 million and total Foundation assets of more than $135 million and all Alumni Association activities including a staff of 10 and a budget of $2 million. o Led the Foundation Board in the development of a strategic plan for o Led the institution in its first comprehensive campaign to raise $100 million in private support. THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, Knoxville, Tennessee Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Affairs ( ) Campaign Director ( ) Responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gift prospects; Worked with external constituencies such as the UT Development Council and the Chancellor Associates for the development of fund-raising strategies; Served on departmental and university wide committees; Provided coordination, management and leadership for the UT, Knoxville phase ($175 million goal) of the 21st Century Campaign, a 5-year $308 million effort. Acting Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Affairs ( ) Responsible for the overall leadership, management, and administration of the development, alumni affairs, and communications programs of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; Served as a member of the executive management team and reported directly to the Chancellor; Responsible for a staff of 50 and an annual operating budget of $2 million. o Led the University to a record $235 million (goal of $175 million) in the University s 21 st Century Campaign. o Increased annual fundraising from $16 million a year to $50 million a year. o Recruited and hired a diverse and talented alumni and development staff. o Managed a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects. o Cultivated and solicited several multi-million dollar gifts for the University.
