4 CONTRIBUTORS BEAUTY MAENZANISE is Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Africa University in Zimbabwe. She has earned a Diploma in Theology from United Theological College, and an M.Div., MST, M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Drew University. Her area of research was the practices of worship in Zimbabwe. She is an elder in The United Methodist Church and serves on the Board of the United Methodist Publishing House. JEFFREY WILLIAMS is Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness Officer at Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He has earned a B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College, an M.A.R. from Westminster Theological Seminary, an M.A. from Vanderbilt University, and a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University, School of Religion. He has taught at Loyola Marymount University and the University of California, Riverside. MARK R. TEASDALE is a Ph.D. candidate at Southern Methodist University. Previously he has earned a B.A. from The American University, an M.Div. and a D.Min. from Wesley Theological Seminary. He is an elder in the Baltimore Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church and has pastored churches in Maryland. JONATHAN COONEY earned an M.A. from Missouri State University, an M.Div. from United Theological Seminary in Ohio, and a Ph.D. from Boston University. He is a clergy member in the Missouri Conference of The United Methodist Church and serves as pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. 66

5 Methodist History, 46:2 (January 2008) EDITOR S NOTE A word of explanation about subscription rates is in order. If you look at the rates as posted on the inside back cover, you will notice that subscriptions for those in Canada are substantially higher than for those in the United States and for those in all other countries much higher still. This is solely driven by the cost of postage. The United States Postal Service (USPS) has instituted a new rate schedule that significantly increases the rates for mailing to addresses outside the United States. The USPS has eliminated second class postage for international mail. Within the scope of our mailing eligibility, all mail posted to destinations outside the United States must be sent first class. The cost of the subscription only covers printing and some of the postage. The General Commission on Archives and History is absorbing some of the increase in postage in order to keep the subscription increases as small as possible. Honoraria are not paid to contributors. Editorial costs are covered by the General Commission as part of staff responsibilities. The publication of Methodist History is a vital part of the ministry of the General Commission. An alternative which may be especially helpful to our international subscribers is that each issue is now also available in PDF format. The PDF subscription rates are $5.00 for one year, $7.50 for two years, and $10.00 for four years. These rates would apply to anyone, regardless of the country of residence. PDF subscriptions would be ed as an attachment to you.
