ThechangesresultedfromanappealsprocessNCTQlaunchedlastsummertoinvestigateandaddress possibleerrorsinthe2014teacherprepreview.nctqaskedthe1,202providers(bothinstitutionsof highereducationandalternativecertificationproviders)initssampletolookoveritsfindingsabout theirprograms.ifprovidersidentifiedsuspectederrors,theycouldsubmitsupportingdocumentation fornctqtoreview. BecausethenexteditionoftheTeacherPrepReviewwillnotbepublisheduntilOctober2016,programs werealsoabletosubmitnewmaterialsthatcouldreflectchangesprogramshavemadesincebeing initiallyreviewed. NCTQemployed88staff,analystsandexpertstoexaminealmost1,000textbooksand22,000 documentsinordertogeneratethe19,000ratingsthatwentintotheteacherprepreview.nctqis committedtoaccuracy.whilerelativelyfewmistakesweremade,nctqwillcontinuetorefineits ratingsprocessestofurtherreducetheerrorrate. NCTQwillsoonbereachingouttoproviderstoaskthemtosubmitnewmaterialforthenexteditionof theteacherprepreview.
