5 Cartwright 5 of 5 RELATED PROFESSIONAL AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE Member of the Scholarship Selection Committee, Hispanic College Fund, Washington, D.C Assistant Director of the Office of Community Service & Civic Engagement, Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA Organized volunteer opportunities, assisted service-learning classes, and served as a liaison to the Allentown community; annually 1,500 students volunteered over 30,000 hours and raised more than $100,000; hired and supervised 25 work study students each year, managed weekly volunteer programs, coordinated fundraisers, planned annual events, tracked and recorded volunteer hours, managed data for annual grant reports and national accreditation reports for Greek organizations, and planned and lead trainings and workshops for volunteers; served as the campus supervisor for AmeriCorps Scholars in Service Volunteer Earn-a-Bike Instructor, Community Bike Works, Allentown, PA Served as a volunteer earn-a-bike instructor for Allentown youth approximately 100 hours annually; youth have an opportunity to earn a bicycle in exchange for 24 hours of participation in the program (see website for more information: Volunteer, AmeriCorps Volunteer through the Border Servant Corps, El Paso, TX Full-time Legal Coordinator, Justice for Women and Children s Project, Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center Coordinated program representing 550 unaccompanied undocumented immigrant children in federal detention per year; gave Know Your Rights presentations to unaccompanied immigrant children in detention, prepared children for court, and worked on individual legal cases (all work in Spanish); wrote and received grants and worked on fundraising projects
