From this course, I have gained knowledge of a variety of teaching methods including lectures, small group discussion, flipped classroom methods, student-to-student learning, and group projects. Patient Care and Communication (P506) Medical terminology This unit was a self-study module included in the P506 course. I helped coordinate the unit and was responsible for designing and distributing the assessments. From this course I have gained experiences in facilitating online learning and designing and marking assessments. Monash University, Victoria, Australia (teaching instructor) Pharmacy intern teaching instructor Involved in teaching intern pharmacists regarding all aspects of clinical pharmacy practice including safe dispensing, counseling, over-the-counter formulations, pharmacy law and therapeutic drug monitoring. Responsible for teaching small groups (20 40 students) in computer dispensing labs (Mydispense program), facilitating Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), basic manufacturing labs, leading therapeutic case scenario discussions, marking unit examinations and assessing oral presentations. The following is a list of units that I have taught: PAC Pharmacy, health and society I This unit aimed to introduce students to a range of topics relevant to the practice of pharmacy (The Health Care System, The Pharmacist and The Patient), to develop communication skills and to develop students' dispensing skills and knowledge. This course enhanced my skills in the Mydispense program and my ability to facilitate group discussions using advanced technology. PAC Pharmacy, health and society II This unit aimed to build on PAC1311 and to also introduce different aspects of human psychology and human behavior. I was responsible for delivering three traditional large group lectures and to develop and grade exam questions. PAC4371 Professional experience placement program As an instructor for this unit, I was responsible for facilitating small group discussions following students professional pharmacy practice placements (hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, rural pharmacy or pharmacy abroad). This course aimed to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of a range of topics relevant to the practice of pharmacy and to apply their knowledge and skills under supervision in various practice settings through the Professional Experience (PEP) Program. PAC4482 Preparation for practice This unit was predominantly conducted through group project work to provide the necessary skills for continued professional development, improve oral and written communication and literature search and evaluation skills. I was responsible for moderating online discussion groups on complex patient care, critiquing and evaluating literature reviews and assessing small group oral presentations. This course allowed me to use research skills I had gained in my PhD to provide comprehensive feedback on students literature reviews. These units aimed to teach the foundations on disease management and the rationale behind drug choices. I was responsible for moderating the labs associated with these units. Labs mainly involved small group presentations, facilitating discussions on various case scenarios, simulated patient assessments and OSCEs. SCHOLARSHIP 3
