Also, acted as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for facility s outpatient program. Developed and supervised an adapted aquatics program, a student intern practicum, and a departmental in service education program. All services were provided while working as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Research Assistant (part-time), May August 1986 Temple University, Philadelphia, PA Assisted in conducting research for a federal grant titled Leisure, Work, and the Quality of Life of Physically Disabled Young Adults. Research conducted through the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department. Directly responsible for conducting personal interviews and verbal communications with members of the physically disabled community. Recreation Therapist (part-time), January May 1986 Home of the Merciful Savior for Cerebral Palsied Children Philadelphia, PA Planned and implemented both individual and group therapeutic recreation activities for children with cerebral palsy. Developed a comprehensive assessment report designed to report levels of cognitive, motor, social and leisure functioning. Recreation Therapist (part-time), September December 1985 Moss Rehabilitation Hospital Drucker Outpatient Unit, Philadelphia, PA Provided both individual and group therapeutic recreation treatment programs for traumatically brain injured clients. Assisted with the community reintegration and leisure education programs.
