2 WELCOME As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion and interfaith engagement, UVU is pleased to announce the opening of our new campus Reflection Center. Our university is committed to serving the needs of our students by providing opportunities for development of mind, body, and spirit. The center will serve students from a variety of religions and those affiliated with no faith tradition. We hope all will benefit from a place of solitude and meditation. Matthew S. 3 REFLECTION CENTER DESCRIPTION The UVU Reflection Center provides space for meditation, prayer, and reflection. The center is designed to accommodate students, faculty, and staff from a diversity of perspectives and faith traditions. In addition to providing quiet space, the center will host reading groups, lectures, workshops, and other activities related to its mission. With a large and increasingly diverse student body from all 50 states and nearly 70 countries, UVU is committed to serving our entire student population. The Reflection Center is designed to support a holistic experience for each of our students and provide a place to develop social, spiritual, and intellectual capacities. 3

4 DESIGN Meditation Room An enclosed area designed and designated for silent prayer, meditation, and reflection. Prayer Room Set aside for individualized verbal prayer and other appropriate forms of religious expression. 5 INTERFAITH STUDENT COUNCIL The Interfaith Student Council consists of representatives from student religious clubs and groups that address spiritual and related philosophical commitments. The council facilitates and supports interfaith dialogue, comparative religious studies, and service related projects.
