1 Transfer List Ivy Tech Community College to Indiana University Bloomington Updated: 05/15/2009

2 Effective each semester, any student seeking to transfer from Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington to Indiana University - Bloomington will have multiple opportunities to meet with a representative from the IU Admissions Office right here on our Ivy Tech campus. This will allow students to ask questions about the transfer process and any individualized concerns one might have about being accepted for admissions to IU-B. Check the Calendar of Events online to locate the next time IU will visit. Students may also receive answers to transfer questions by contacting the Office of Student Affairs at

3 We now have in place a transfer credit agreement with Ivy Tech where we have articulated 453 semester hours that may be transferred from any Ivy Tech campus to Indiana University Bloomington. The courses may be taken before or after IU Bloomington matriculation. Each course is effective dated, and the course will transfer as long as a grade of C or higher was earned, unless specified differently. Ivy Tech course descriptions may be found in the college catalog at the following website: A current schedule of classes may be found at : A&H (Arts & Humanities), S&H (Social & Historical Sciences), N&M (Natural & Mathematical Sciences) Counts for credit hour distribution requirements in the I.U. 9 Ivy Tech Title Title 1 UN: Even if IU doesn't offer a course equivalent to the one you took, they are often able to grant credits in the corresponding IU department. These are called "undistributed" (UN) credits because they can't give them a specific IU course number. In addition, most courses in fine arts, music, Slavic languages, East Asian languages, Sign language and level business are transferred to IU as undistributed according to these departments' instructions. The decision as to how UN courses fit into your degree program is made by the school/division in which you are pursuing your degree. Please contact them for additional information. While every effort is made to provide accurate and current information, Indiana University reserves the right to change without notice statements listed herein concerning rules, policies, courses, or other matters.
