4 KEYNOTE SPEAKER The Reverend Dr. Robert Grove-Markwood, Director of the BTS Center, mission successor to Bangor Theological Seminary (BTS). The Center's evolving mission is to equip and support faith leaders for theologically-grounded and effective 21st-century ministry, especially in smaller, rural settings. Bob was the final president of Bangor Theological Seminary during its historic closure and re-invention. He had an extensive history with BTS -- as a graduate (M.Div. and D.Min.), admissions director, and a trustee -- before becoming the final president. He also served as the pastor of the Presque Isle UCC in northern Maine for 25 years. WORKSHOP LEADERS Preparing Congregations To Transition From The Full-Time Pastor Model To The Bi- Vocational Pastor Rev. Dr. SanDawna Gaulman Ashley Assistant Stated Clerk, the manager for Call Process Support and Teaching Elders Ministries in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In her work with the Mid Councils Ministry Unit, Office of the General Assembly, Ashley provides training, consultation, coaching, and resources for presbyteries in support of congregations, COMs, call seekers and calling organizations. Ashley experience includes serving as senior pastor and solo pastor of congregations in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Illinois. She is experienced in cross cultural ministry, congregational transformation, and leadership development. Ashley has degrees from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (DMIN), Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary (MDIV) and Georgia State University (BSW).

5 What Leadership Competencies Are Needed For Part-Time Pastors? Rev. Dr. Craig Howard The presbytery leader for Milwaukee Presbytery. He completed his undergraduate work at DePaul in University Industrial Organizational Psychology, and earned the M.Div and D.Min degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary. Craig s first career was in business, as owner and operator of a State Farm insurance agency for 20 years. After being called to ministry, Craig served McCormick as Director of Recruitment and Admissions. Craig later served McCormick in fundraising as Chief Development Officer. After relocating to Madison WI Craig worked as a Major Gifts officer at Beloit College, and as Mission Advancement Director at Bethesda Lutheran Communities. Craig served bivocationally, doing fundraising or admissions work while in pastoral ministry. Bi-Vocational Stressors Kathy Hudspeth, Executive Director of Ministry Development Center - a Ministry that helps nurture the growth of Church Leadership and youth. She is a counselor, trainer and coach. Developing A Congregation Full of Leaders (Empowering The Congregation to Do the Work Of Ministry) Rev. Tony Freeman Director of Church Life and Health for Metropolitan Community Churches. Has served MCC for 18 years in a variety of roles, including as Senior Pastor, Interim Pastor, church consultant, chair of the

6 Structure Review Team, and member of the Governing Board. His experience includes service in churches of various sizes, especially pastor, program, and corporate size churches. How to Grow a Congregation While Working Part-Time Rev. Dr. Felicia Howard LaBoy Is the Associate Dean of Black Church Studies and Advanced Learning, which includes the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) and non-degree/certificate programs for Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. An Elder in Full Connection with the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, LaBoy holds degrees from Lehigh University, BA; Duke University, MBA; Indiana Christian University, MA; Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, MDiv, PhD. Bi-Vocational Stressors Dr. Lenore Wilkinson Dr. Wilkinson, Ph.D earned her doctorate in Clinical-Community Psychology from Yale University in She is a certified coach for ministers and is trained as a facilitator for Healthy Congregations. She is a life-long Lutheran and has served the North Carolina Synod of the ELCA as a board member for Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas, on the Specialized Pastoral Care committee.
