Assisted organizing conference Federal Criminal Cases in the Post-Booker Era Developing Effective Gang Policies for California's Division of Juvenile Justice, Graduate Student Researcher (PI: Cheryl Maxson) Requested and managed official data from the Division of Juvenile Justice, and conducted data analysis for reports. Taught graduate and undergraduate students in data cleaning, coding, and entry, and mentored undergraduates in summer research projects. Also conducted interviews with youth and staff, and helped construct staff interview instrument Center for Evidence-Based Corrections, University of California, Irvine, Graduate Student Researcher (Director: Susan Turner) Worked on several projects, including data analysis for an evaluation of Non- Revocable Parole, which removes low risk parolees from direct supervision and places them on banked caseloads; conducted a cost analysis of GPS technology on high risk sex offenders, and assisted in interviewing parolees in focus groups. Other projects included analyzing interview and quantitative data for a simulation of early release of parolees, and assisting in interviews of parole agents and law enforcement John Jay College of Criminal Justice City University of New York, Graduate Research Assistant (PI: David Brotherton, Zulema Blair, Barry Spunt) Collected survey data, conducted archival research, and wrote literature reviews for various projects, including victimization in immigrant populations, terrorism and gangs, victimization and violence in the military, prisoner reentry and identification, and heroin and popular culture.
