The feedback is received from students and the consolidated report of the feedback is assessed by HOD of the department. The students have participated in planting and maintaining trees in and around the campus. They have also actively participated in cleanliness awareness drive by distributing calendars enumerating the methods and advantages of keeping our environment clean. 48. The department has contributed in identifying new species of insect and mites and this has been documented by publications in reputed journals. 2. Molecular barcoding of insects and mites of the Western Ghats are also being carried out. 3. Studies on new bio pesticides are being done. 4. Has passed on information about use of natural enemies in controlling pests of crops to the parasite breeding stations.. 5. Use of Anti-juvenile hormones in pest control 51. The department has dynamic faculties who are actively involved in research and have attracted external funding through projects. 2. The department can design the curriculum independently. 3. The department has done pioneering research in entomology and invertebrate reproduction and this has enabled the department to be selected for the Special Assistance programme of UGC. Weakness 1.
