Our 7-week courses emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, servant leadership and multicultural understanding. Course material stems from today s business thought leaders, and only the most applicable concepts from textbooks are presented. No matter the area of discipline in your undergraduate degree, you can pursue the MSOM with no prerequisite courses. The program is nationally recognized by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC), meaning the highest standards of program development, course offerings and candidate success are met. Successful completion of all program requirements leads to South Carolina Advanced licensure as a principal and supervisor. Those already holding a master s degree may pursue an individualized program of study for additional credentialing as an elementary or secondary school administrator. Courses are offered once per year. The Quick Start option allows students to begin the program in June and take selected courses before continuing the following January. The program operates on a cohort model in an online format where students take courses one at a time over a 5-week period. The program may be completed in 16 months, taking three courses per semester. Part-time options are also available. RN-MSN 51 CREDIT HOURS 19 MONTHS BEGINNING IN MAY BSN-MSN 39 CREDIT HOURS 16 MONTHS BEGINNING IN AUGUST The Nursing Leadership and Healthcare Administration emphasis prepares nurses to serve in leadership and administrative roles within healthcare settings. The curriculum uses diverse leadership and organizational theories as a foundation and is designed to provide the participant with advanced problemsolving skills to address issues in modern healthcare. Focus is placed on new models of leadership, strategic planning, program development and management, financial management, evidencebased healthcare delivery and change project design and implementation. The program requires students to complete the MSN program core courses (17 credit hours) and six courses (22 credit hours) in Nursing Leadership and Healthcare Administration. A significant advantage of this program is that students may use the RN-MSN point of entry by completing the required three BSN transition courses.

The curriculum prepares graduates to develop and evaluate curriculum and to effectively implement innovative teaching strategies using multiple learning formats while emphasizing the spiritual, ethical and moral dimensions of the art of nursing. Graduates will have the educational preparation to teach at a faculty level in nursing programs, as well as accept educator positions within hospital and other healthcare settings. RN-MSN 51 CREDIT HOURS 19 MONTHS BEGINNING IN MAY BSN-MSN 39 CREDIT HOURS 16 MONTHS BEGINNING IN AUGUST The program requires students to complete the MSN program core courses (17 credit hours) and six courses (22 credit hours) in Nursing Education. POST-MASTER S CERTIFICATE IN NURSING EDUCATION The Post-Master s Certificate in Nursing Education program provides opportunities for students who already have a master s degree in nursing to gain specialized knowledge within the nursing education specialty area. The program is open to registered nurses who possess a master s degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing school. Students have two options to complete the certificate program: one with a Practicum course and one without a Practicum course. Students completing one of these two programs of study will be awarded a Post-Master s Certificate in Nursing Education.
12 Master of Athletic Training (M AT)* PROFESSIONAL DEGREE PROGRAM ACCREDITATION *Charleston Southern University is currently phasing out the existing Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The Master of Athletic Training (M AT) program and curriculum is awaiting final approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which should occur during the academic year. Furthermore, the M AT program is awaiting a degree level approval and re-accreditation from the CAATE, which is scheduled to occur during the academic year. A student may enroll in the M AT at CSU in the summer of 2017 but must understand that the CAATE re-accreditation will not occur until after their first year in the program. They collaborate with physicians to provide prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. The Athletic Training Program at Charleston Southern prepares students to become well-rounded, clinically sound, professionally certified athletic trainers through a rigorous didactic and clinical education program. The cohort-based program spans 24 months with a strong emphasis in evidence-based clinical examination and diagnosis of injuries and illness sustained by physically active patients. Our program provides future athletic trainers with the knowledge, skills and abilities to function as an integral member of the health care team. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Our program is the first and only professional Master of Athletic Training program in South Carolina. CSU recently opened a new 2,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Athletic Training Program Lab. The CSU Athletic Training Program is committed to providing diverse, authentic and immersive clinical experiences. The undergraduate Athletic Training Program, initially accredited in 2003, has a history of excellence on the Board of Certification (BOC) exam and in the profession of athletic training with alumni working across the United States.
13 Master of Arts (MA) Christian Studies The Master of Arts in Christian Studies at CSU equips believers with the crucial knowledge and skills needed for an effective, Christ-honoring ministry. It s a great option for pastors, group leaders or anyone wanting to learn more. DR. MICHAEL BRYANT Executive Vice President The Master of Arts in Christian Studies is a 36 hour online degree designed to equip believers with the knowledge and skills needed for an effective, Christ-honoring ministry. CYBERSECURITY EMPHASIS The Cybersecurity emphasis provides students the technical skills and knowledge needed to successfully protect organizational data, investigate data breaches, and develop strategies to prevent data from being compromised. SOFTWARE ENGINEERING EMPHASIS The Software Engineering emphasis prepares students for software engineering positions that require proficiency in specific areas of the software-development life cycle: requirements gathering/definition, software quality assurance and software testing and maintenance.
