These course numbers represent the student teaching field experience, and the student teaching course that meets weekly on campus. Teaching EDUC 2120: Children in Families & Schools Developed this course to expose students to the many ways that culture, race, and class impact children, families, and schools across the country, and abroad. This course draws 1
2 Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors from all avenues of Vanderbilt. This course meets twice each week. Instruction is a combination of lecture, small group discussion, collaboration, walking to tour specific local neighborhoods, presentations, readings, video, interviews, and research. Current Teaching Evaluation Scores Found 2nd Attachment. Summer 2012 Spring 2014 Post-doctoral Researcher Worked alongside Dr. Rich Lehrer on a U.S. Dept. of Education Institute for Education Sciences grant scoring student assessments, coordinating classroom coaches, analyzing data, participating in professional development, and interviewing and recruiting professionals in Nashville, TN and Phoenix, AZ, visiting Phoenix once a month. This RCI is conducting research to determine if 6 th grade students improve more in their statistical reasoning skills and general math achievement with the Data Modeling curriculum than practice-as-usual instruction. Fall 2009/ Spring 2013 Lecturer/ Field Experience Coordinator Located, coordinated, and maintained student teaching and practicum placements for all elementary education students, provided orientations for University Mentors, Field Mentors, as well as student teachers. Supervised student teachers each week along with teaching the student teaching seminar EDUC 2290/ EDUC Taught the Elementary Math & Science practicum, EDUC 2250, and attended the science methods course that coordinates, SCED Observed the Math & Science practicum students twice a week.
