1 PRESS COVERAGE REPORT 2 nd International Conference on Rehabilitation Sciences organized by Riphah International University concluded in Islamabad A two day 2 nd International Conference on Rehabilitation Sciences organized by Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences (RCRS), a constituent institute of Riphah International University, has ended in Islamabad. The theme of conference was Challenges in specialized & autonomous practice in rehabilitation Sciences. Executive Director Higher Education Commission, Dr. Arshad Ali was the chief Guest of the closing ceremony of the conference. In his remarks he said, rehabilitation sciences is one of the emerging field of study in Pakistan and all across the world. Riphah International University is the pioneer of introducing structured degree Programs in rehabilitation sciences in Pakistan. He added that, with the development of modern equipment, procedures and practices in the field of rehabilitation Sciences, it is now one the most effective method of treatment in addition to surgical and medical procedures. He appreciated the efforts of Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences for organizing this scientific and result oriented International Conference on rehabilitations conference in Pakistan. Earlier inaugurating the conference, Chancellor Riphah International University Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan welcomed the professionals of Rehabilitation sciences from USA, UK, Australia, UAE, and Pakistan, he said, it is indeed a great privilege for me to present 2 nd International conference on Rehabilitation Sciences in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion Guest of Honor Engr. Mr. Asadullah Khan, Executive Director Islamic International Medical College Trust said, that Riphah International University spent 75 million rupees in to promote professionals and research in different areas. 2 published 184 research publications, hosted 2 international conferences and almost 30 seminars and symposiums. In this mega event Riphah Faisalabad campus, Margalla Institute of Health Sciences, Helping Hand Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences,Rehman Institute of Rehab Sciences, NCS university system, ShifaTameer-e-Millat University and the Physio Multan participated and placed their Stalls for information. The key note speakers from across the world included Professor Cornelia Kulig from the University of Southern California USA, Professor Jenifer Keating, from Monash University Australia, Professor Denise Taylor, Dr. Nada Signal, Dr. Imran Niazi from Auckland University of technology, Associate Professor Shane Patman from the University of Notre Dame Australia,Patricia MacLoughlin from St Patrick Hospital Ireland, Professor Ulrika Löfkvist from the University of Oslo, Sweden. Along with the international key-note speakers 12 national experts delivered their speeches on the key issues and aspects of the rehabilitation profession in the local and global perspectives. 20 workshops were held on various topics of professional interest of rehab and 76 scientific research papers presented by rehab professionals form different public and private sector universities during the conference. The conference chairman Dr. Syed Shakeel ur Rehman presented his special gratitude to the international speakers who came from different countries.
