A 5-year project to improve the quality of student education The QEP for our college is problem-based learning (PBL) What is PBL? An active learning strategy that connects course concepts to the real world.

24 What We Have Done Foundations of Excellence Report Findings The College should be committed to providing tools for assisting students in their goal of success Strengthening existing academic advising in Academic & Student Affairs faculty play a huge role in making this success possible Provide effective support to our new students. The College should create a structure that supports its commitment to new students.

25 What We Have Done Academic Advising Mission Palo Alto College academic advising creates a collaborative learning experience that empowers students to maximize their potential. What is Academic Advising? Academic advising is a series of ongoing and intentional conversations among students, faculty, and staff that establish a pathway to the realization of educational, career, and life goals.

26 What We Have Done Preparing to open the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) Center Goal Provide currently enrolled students with access to faculty and staff advisors throughout the year, so they can progress to completion.

28 What We Have Done Accomplishments Recognized by Quality Texas for implementing the Baldrige Performance Excellence Criteria at the Progress Level Puente Project PAC is one of three Texas community colleges to pilot this thematic learning community concept Canvas online certification for Canvas training completed by 116 faculty members Passport 1,151 students and 236 family members attended New Student Orientations
