1 February 2016 Healthcare Facilities Using Healing Touch This is a list of hospitals in the U.S. that provide Healing Touch to patients, family members and/or employees. Carolina s Healthcare System Carolina s Healthcare System offers Healing Touch through their Integrative Oncology Services to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their family members throughout treatment and survivorship. Healing Touch is offered through the Integrative and Wellness team at Carolina Medical Center Northeast as an evidencebased holistic treatment designed to complement traditional care. As a result, patients recover faster and are more comfortable when undergoing or recovering from medical procedures. Carolinas College of Health Sciences offers Healing Touch Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Healing Touch Program coursework. Nemours/A. I. dupont Hospital for Children Healing Touch was introduced to Nemours/Alfred I. dupont Hospital for Children in March To date, there are 80 trained Level 1 and up Healing Touch students/practitioners. In May 2011, the hospital approved a Healing Touch Procedures document and inclusion of the therapy in plans of care. Healing Touch is available to all patients and their families as well as their caregivers. In January 20126, the Hospital Pediatrics publication featured a study on Healing Touch. Cleveland Clinic The Healing Services team provides care services for patients, families and employees including Healing Touch to assist recovery from medical or surgical interventions. Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC The Integrative Health program at Mission Cancer Care offers evidence-based, holistic nursing interventions provided by trained, licensed medical professionals. 2 St. Mary s Healthcare, Amsterdam Since 1996, patients and families have experienced the positive benefits of Healing Touch at St. Mary s Healthcare Amsterdam through the Center for Complementary Care. Yuma Regional Medical Center Yuma Regional offers Healing Touch through the Spiritual Care Department to assist patients in the healing process. Healing Touch is provided as a non-medicinal, noninvasive therapy for pain management and to reduce anxiety in conjunction with other therapies. OhioHealth Grant Medical Center (Magnet hospital) Healing Touch was first offered at Grant in 2003 as a treatment for anxiety and pain. Since then it has grown in popularity and use according to Paula Kobelt, MSN, RN-BC. All Healing Touch practitioners at Grant Medical Center are hospital employees. Albany Medical Center The inpatient Healing Arts Program at Albany Medical Center began in 2007 and serves the 650 bed tertiary care hospital. The program integrates evidence-based medicine with scientific and artistic views. The most common form of treatment for patients are energybased therapies. Healing Touch is utilized at the bedside throughout the hospital and administered to staff in an employee Healing Touch clinic.
