37 II. C R E D I T F A C U L T Y C R E D E N T I A LS R E V I E W : P R O C E D U R A L G U I D E L I N E S 1. Establishing Faculty Credential Requirements f Teaching Discipline When an academic division department committee proposes a new course to the Academic Affairs Committee, the Minimum Instruct Qualifications must be identified on the Proposal f New Course fm. Once the Academic Affairs Committee has approved a proposal and it is adopted by the Board of Trustees, the instruct qualifications shall be entered on the Credentials Parameters fm f the appropriate discipline. It is the responsibility of the division deans/directs to maintain and update the Credentials Parameters fm f each course taught in their divisions. 2. Completion of Faculty Employment Qualifications Fm The Faculty Employment Qualifications Fm must be completed and kept current f all teaching faculty. The faculty qualifications fm has been developed f assessment of faculty credentials. This fm establishes review at the department level including response to specific credentialing questions, transcript analysis and a writing sample. The fm is filed in the faculty member s Human Resources personnel folder and consolidated with credentials recds as they are received by the College. Expansion of a faculty member's teaching assignment to a new academic discipline area requires updating of the Faculty Employment Qualifications Fm. 3. Faculty Credential Review by Screening Committees Applicants f teaching positions are reviewed by faculty peers: Full-time faculty applicants are reviewed by screening committees that include faculty from the teaching discipline. Part-time faculty applicants are reviewed by discipline program chairs and the division dean/direct. 4. Division Dean/Direct Review of Faculty Credentials The Division Dean/Direct will verify the credentials and make a recommendation through completing the Roster of Instructional Staff Guidelines f Repting the Qualifications and Competencies of Full-Time and Part-Time Faculty. A copy of this packet will be retained in the division and the iginal will be returned to Human Resources as permanent recd. Should the packet warrant possible approval to be Credentialed as an Exception (CE), the Division Dean/Direct will send the packet f review by the Vice President f Academic Affairs. Credentialed as an Exception Review by TCC President The Vice President f Academic Affairs will review packets earmarked as Credentialed as an Exception (CE) by the Division Dean/Direct and make a recommendation to the TCC President. Final approval of these packets will require the signature of the Vice President f Academic Affairs. Final signed copies of credentials materials, including data sheets, fms and writing samples used f exception, will be sent to the appropriate academic department, and the iginal returned to the Vice President f Academic Affairs office. 6. Final Processing of Applicants Credentialed as an Exception (CE) The Office of the Vice President f Academic Affairs will return packets to Human Resources as permanent recd and notify the Division Dean/Direct on the decision regarding the applicant.
