Weaknesses: Non availability of rece subject matter in differe aspects of teacher education in Urdu. As the studes came from Urdu Medium background they find it difficult to study in English which is a pre-requisite to assimilate new knowledge. In the age of accelerated learning it is often observed that our studes are slow in their acquisition process due to their Socio- economic background. Assimilation and expression of certain crucial issues in education is hampered due to non-availability of research data in Urdu. The prese duration of B.Ed. and Courses is not sufficie to ie the prospective teachers in the crucial areas of their profession which include School Experience, Community Ieraction and the mastery of the coe in Urdu. Opptunities: The School of and Training prepares the primary, secondary, seni secondary and higher education teachers of various subjects and specialisation to meet the needs of all the states in the coury f Urdu medium and other media institutions. The established MANUU Model Schools act as the demonstration schools f the faculty and studes of Departme of and Training and the colleges of Teacher. The Urdu speaking minities (male/female) are provided with an opptunity to avail teacher education facilities of high quality in their nearby vicinity by paying minimum fee. The faculty of School of and Training facilitates in the capacity building of Urdu medium schools and Madrasa teachers of differe states through Cere f ional Developme of Urdu Medium Teachers. The School of and Training through its various Teacher programmes enhances the job opptunities of under privileged youth of our coury studying through Urdu medium. The School of and Training suppts the needy studes to avail the opptunities of various scholarships from governme and non-governmeal agencies. The faculty of School of and Training as Resource Persons are coributing in the production of Audio and Video material through Instructional Media Cere of MANUU. The Departme of and Training and the CTEs are functioning as programme ceres in conducting the Distance Mode Teacher programmes offered by Directate of Distance of MANUU. Challenges: The Socio-economic and the academic backdrop of the studes enrolled in to differe programmes are considered to be a big hurdle in motivating and bringing them on par with the best of the studes pursuing similar courses in other reputed institutions. 99

While offering pre-service teacher education programmes to prepare teachers f Urdu Medium schools, the faculty is also equally concerned with the empowerme of the existing Urdu Medium teachers across the coury is a challenge f the School of and Training MANUU. 52. Future plans of the School of and Training MANUU. To promote collabative research in education with ier disciplinary approach in the University and with Departmes of of other Universities.
