Call to Order President, called the meeting to order at 6:18 p.m. II. Prayer Margaret Shriver opened the meeting with prayer. III. Pledge of Allegiance Douglas Hines led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. IV. Introductions Introductions were made around the room. V. Approval of Agenda A motion was made by Margaret Shriver, seconded by Douglas Hines, to approve the agenda with updated personnel actions.

WVU Extension Office Services Liz Metheny, WVU Extension Office, provided the Board with an update on the programs the WVU Extension Office have collaborated with Hardy County Schools. Some of these items are the Stem Grant at Moorefield Elementary School, Energy Express, and 4-H Camp. Some items that are being developed for the future include: a grant for all Hardy County Schools to have Logo Robotics, Clover Bud Day Camp, and CTE collaboration. VII. IX. Unfinished Business A. Approval of Revised Administrative Organization Plan Policy CBB On the motion of Dixie Bean, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board approved Administrative Organization Plan Policy CBB for first reading. B. Discussion of HVAC Renovation Project EHEMS Mr. Steve Williams, Director of Administrative Programs, provided the Board with an update on the renovation project at East Hardy Early Middle School. The Architectural/Engineering Service position is out for bid. Packets will be mailed out to individuals upon request. Mr. Williams asked the Board to provide a date for the interview process. The date for the interviews will be March 9, 2017 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Hardy County Board of Education Office. C. Discussion of Main Street Project Dr. Matthew Dotson, Superintendent, advised the Board he had met with Ms. Mallie Combs for an update. The applications for the grant approval to prepare the property for completion was submitted. Ms. Combs is working on additional grants for funding the renovation of the Main Street Project.

3 Page 3 X. New Business The full asbestos report has not been received at this time. A. Athletic Coaches Policy GEE On the motion of Douglas Hines, seconded by J. Brad Simmons, the Board approved Athletic Coaches Policy GEE for first reading. B. Discussion of Handle With Care Program Dr. Matthew Dotson, Superintendent, provided the Board with information about the Handle with Care Program. All but two counties are utilizing this program in the school systems. Dr. Dotson is working on getting this program set-up and working in Hardy County Schools. C. Discussion of Radon Testing at East Hardy High School and Moorefield High School Steve Williams Mr. Williams discussed with the Board the radon testing at East Hardy High School and Moorefield High School. It is required that all new structures be tested for radon. We are in the process of beginning the test by sending out a letter providing when the testing will take place and how the testing will be performed. D. In County/Out of County Transfers On the motion of Margaret Shriver, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board approved the following transfers. D. A. from East Hardy Early Middle School to Moorefield Elementary School G. A. from East Hardy Early Middle School to Moorefield Elementary School B. C. from Grant County to Hardy County L. The Board commended the East Hardy High School Volleyball Team for being recognized by the state legislators. XIV. Personnel On the motion of J. Brad Simmons, seconded by Douglas Hines, the Board approved the Service Personnel Hirings: Dale Dove: School Bus Operator, Long Term Substitute, Trout Pond, Thornbottom, Mill Gap, Rockbridge Road, Big Ridge Road, Portion 259, with Minor Extensions Diana K. Miller: Substitute Cook, effective February 7, 2017 On the motion of Douglas Hines, seconded by Margaret Shriver, the Board approved the Professional Personnel Hiring: Sarah Dunn: Substitute Teacher, effective SY On the motion of Douglas Hines, seconded by J.
