3 For Arts & Letters, Sacramento State Downtown is more than just classes it s a chance to collaborate and establish artistic partnerships in the local community and to showcase the creativity of faculty, students, and staff in the city of Sacramento. Sheree Meyer, DEAN, COLLEGE OF COLLEGE OF As Sacramento State s home for arts and humanities, the College of Arts & Letters has a second one downtown. Blocks from the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, Verge Gallery, Beatnik Studios, and other organizations, the downtown location is well situated to enhance the University s support of arts and culture for the students and the community at large. The success of this pairing is clear in the popularity of annual signature events such as U-Nite at the Crocker in the fall and the U-Create street fair in the spring, where students benefit from community collaboration to showcase their talents. The college also strives to support new and underserved audiences, to explore and use new and unique learning approaches for all students, and to provide internship opportunities and knowledge resources for entrepreneurial artists.
