1 January-April 2019 OSU Extension Classes The 30th annual Seeds of Spring Educational Seminar will be held at the Grants Pass campus of Rogue Community College on March 16th. There will be four sessions with a choice of approximately 39 classes from which to choose from. Registration will open on January 7th and close on March 8th. This year, the Master Gardener annual plant sale will be held on the weekend of Saturday, May 4th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, May 5th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the OSU Extension Josephine County Office site on 215 Ringuette Street, Grants Pass. There will be annual and perennial plants for sale that were cultivated by Master Gardener students, as well as a selection of trees and shrubs. 8 SMALL FARMS Sara Runkel, Maud Powell, Jackson Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training Date and Time: Tuesday, January 22, 2019 / 8:00 AM 5:30 PM PST Location: Southern Oregon Research & Extension Center 569 Hanley Road Central Point, OR Cost : $35 (includes full day of instruction, certificate of course completion, PSA Grower Training manual, snacks and lunch) Funding for this training is made possible by the Food and Drug Administration through grant PAR Jackson County Who Should Attend Fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and co -management of natural resources and food safety. The PSA Grower Training Course is one way to satisfy the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in (c) that requires At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.
