2 July 3, 2001 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: EIU STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO CHARLESTON - Nearly 25 Eastern Illinois University students were recently initiated into the Beta Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi. Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society, was organized to recognize excellence in education. An individual becomes a member of the society by invitation from a local chapter whose members have approved the candidacy. Such an invitation is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career and a professional attitude which assures the member's steady growth in the field of education. The following students received membership: ALGONQUIN - Shaun Newmes, son of Martin and Ilene Newmes of Algonquin; 1995 graduate of Hoffman Estates High School; senior elementary education major. BELLEVILLE- Melissa Wright, daughter of Glenn and Therese Wright of Belleville;
