5 Passport to Learning and Tuition Based Kid Quest Academic Program (1st - Sixth Grade) Purpose o To enhance skills needed in the areas of reading, writing, math, and science. Date o June 6 - June 28, Half Day Enrollment o Title I Passport to Learning 1,109 students o Tuition Based Kid Quest Academic 54 students o Total 1,163 students

6 Bilingual Program (Pre Kindergarten - Second Grade) Purpose o Date Bilingual summer school is required by federal law to be offered for Pre-K and K students. CISD offered a supplemental summer program to 1 st and 2 nd grade recommended Bilingual students. o June 6 - June 28, Full Day Enrollment o 936 students

7 English as a Second Language Program (Pre Kindergarten - Second Grade) Purpose o English as a Second Language (ESL) summer school is required by federal law to be offered for Pre-K and K students. CISD offered a supplemental summer program to 1 st and 2 nd grade recommended ESL students. Date o June 6 June 28, Full Day Enrollment o 263 students

8 Reading & Math Camp Purpose o Date To provide an intensive, targeted reading and mathematics intervention for fifth grade students. o June 6 - June 28, Half Day Enrollment o 339 students

9 Kid Quest Enrichment Enrichment Courses o Experiencing Robotics Location / Date o Cryar & Vogel Intermediate o June 11 - June 15, Half Day o June 18 - June 22, Half Day Enrollment o 50 students

10 Extended School Year Services Purpose o Extended School Year (ESY) services are designed to minimize the loss of acquired critical skills of students with disabilities who have demonstrated significant regression or recoupment patterns. o Participation in ESY is based on decisions made by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee. Date / Time o June 11 - June 28, Full Day o July 16 - August 2, Full Day Enrollment o 43 students

17 Secondary Summer Summary There were 1,332 course enrollments in Secondary Summer School programs 828 students attended the district high school programs 127 students attended online accelerated initial Math credit courses 349 total students attended junior high summer school 57 students participated in ESY 38 students attended GED classes 25 students participated in ESL Academy Approximately 98% of the high school courses taken were completed successfully 644 initial high school credits earned by high school and junior high students 724 repeat credits earned by high school students
