If you are comfortable in English language and have numeracy skills or ready to learn these, then you can start your CIMA journey TODAY! Read on! 2.2 CAN I CLAIM ANY CIMA CREDITS OR EXEMPTIONS FOR MY PREVIOUS STUDIES? YES! If you have a relevant degree or qualification but this is only granted at CIMA's discretion once you are a registered CIMA student and not before! Note that colleges not authorized by to evaluate qualifications grant The best advice we have for you if you really wish to know what credits or exemptions you can potentially be allowed based on your current qualification is to click the link below: 2.3 DOES HOLDING AN MBA DEGREE, ACCA, CPA, CA(SA) HELP WITH CLAIMING EXEMPTIONS? YES! You can either claim exemption from the 5 certificate level subjects and E1 -Enterprise Operations at the Operational level or you can automatically gain advanced entry via the CIMA Gateway Assessment (CGA) exam: On successful completion of the CGA exam, you will be granted 11 exemptions from the CIMA professional qualification (all exemptions are free) and will be awarded the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. You will now register for and write your exams with any Pearson Vue Authorised Test Centre. These centres are in most locations in South Africa and across the world. 7 The CIMA Professional syllabus has been updated for At each Professional level there are now three Objective Tests (e.g. E1, P1, F1) followed by an Integrated Case Study. You must progress by level in the order shown in the diagram to the left. To progress to the next level you must have passed all 3 Objective Tests and the Integrated Case Study from the lower level. The 3 Objective Tests within each level can be taken in any order, but must be passed before attempting the Integrated Case Study for that level. OBJECTIVE TESTS: The 9 technical exams (E1, E2, E3, P1, P2, P3, F1, F2, F3) will each consist of 90 minute 'Objective Tests' taken on a computer. These will be available all year around, starting from January These exams are computer marked so results will be available shortly after the exam. Objective Tests use a combination of multiple choice, data entry, fill in the gaps and drag/drop style questions. Questions will be selected randomly and will cover all of the learning outcomes within the syllabus. INTEGRATED CASE STUDY: There will now be a case study at each level - Operational, Management and Strategic. These 3 hour computer exams will cover the syllabus from all 3 pillars within the level you are sitting. There will be four fixed exam sittings a year - February, May, September and November. These exams are human marked and results will be available c.3-4 weeks after the exams are held. The exams will be broken down into timed sections with tasks being set based on 'trigger' information delivered at various points during the exam. The previously unseen trigger information will build on the pre-seen material that you will receive a few weeks prior to the exam. The questions will be discursive, and involve minimal calculations, short answers and essays. Some tasks will also be linked.
