Curse Admissin The Schl has stringent prcedures in place t assess whether a student s qualificatins, experience and English language prficiency are apprpriate t gain entry t study at the Schl. Students applying fr entry int a curse at the Schl must cmplete the apprpriate Applicatin Frm and may be required t prvide the fllwing supprting dcumentatin: prf that they meet relevant English language requirements fr admissin int a specific curse certified cpies f transcripts/qualificatins (transcripts frm freign institutins must be translated and/r evaluated by an apprved freign credential evaluatr) any additinal supprting dcumentatin requested by the Schl such as resumes. Overseas qualificatins will be assessed fr equivalence in Australia at the time f applicatin using the Cuntry Educatin Prfiles (CEP) nline tl. AQF qualificatins and prviders will be verified using ne f the Australian gvernment s registers, such as Training.gv.au (TGA) and the TEQSA Natinal Register. Internatinal students wh are made an Offer f Admissin based n their internatinal student status may nt change that status upn gaining residency until the fllwing trimester f study. English Language Requirements Internatinal students must demnstrate English prficiency thrugh ne f the fllwing means. An English test scre using ne f the fllwing English language Tests as apprved by the Schl: Internatinal English Language Testing System (IELTS) Pearsn Test f English (PTE) Test f English as a Freign Language (TOEFL) Kaplan Internatinal Test f English (KITE) Cambridge English: Advanced frm Cambridge ESOL (CAE) Other tests may include: Cambridge English Advanced (CAE); General Certificate f Educatin (GCE); English fr Academic Purpses (EAP); Murdch Institute f Technlgy (MIT) English Placement Assessment. Satisfactry cmpletin f an apprved English fr Academic Purpses curse frm Kaplan Internatinal English r a selected number f ELICOS prviders that have signed a direct entry agreement with the Schl; Satisfactry cmpletin f an apprved Australian university s English fr Academic Purpses curse, r equivalent Academic English tertiary preparatin prgram, that successfully meets the English Prficiency entry requirements f that university s undergraduate r pstgraduate prgrams, prviding thse entry requirements are f an equal r higher level than thse f the Schl; Prf f cmpletin f secndary educatin (r higher) in a cuntry in which English is the primary language; 1

2 Prf f cmpletin f secndary educatin at an internatinal high schl where English was the language f primary instructin; In sme cases, students may be required t successfully cmplete anther English language test apprved by the Schl. Undergraduate Curse Entry Requirements Students must reach the admissins standards set by Academic Bard, which are currently: The minimum age fr entrance int undergraduate curses is 18. Entry int undergraduate curses requires successful cmpletin f Year 12 r equivalent schling such as a Certificate IV r equivalent. Entry int the Bachelr level curses requires an ATAR f 55 r equivalent. Mature age entry (ver 21 years f age) may be admitted withut meeting minimum educatinal requirements. Hwever, applicants are required t demnstrate capacity t meet curse entry requirements. Fr example, this may necessitate an interview with the Schl, emplyer references, evidence f prir training, and/r a prtfli f prfessinal wrk. Applicants may als be allwed direct entry thrugh an apprved articulatin agreement. English Language Requirements Undergraduate Curses Applicants whse secndary schl educatin, undergraduate r pstgraduate qualificatin was nt cmpleted in English r whse wrk in the industry was nt carried ut in English must demnstrate levels f English prficiency as described belw. Diplma curses An English test scre with minimum requirements as fllws: Academic IELTS Overall 5.5, n individual band scre belw 5.0; KITE scre greater than 396 Overall fr listening, reading and grammar, and B2 fr speaking and writing; PTE Academic Scre f 42; TOEFL ibt Scre f 46; Cambridge English: Advanced frm Cambridge ESOL (CAE) Scre f 162. Bachelr degree curses An English test scre with minimum requirements as fllws: Academic IELTS Overall 6.0, with nt less than 6.0 fr Speaking and Writing and 5.5 fr Listening and Reading; KITE scre greater than 426 Overall fr listening, reading and grammar, and B2 fr speaking and writing; PTE Academic Scre f 50; TOEFL ibt Scre f 60; Cambridge English: Advanced frm Cambridge ESOL (CAE) Scre f 169. 3 Students wh d nt meet ne f the abve criteria but wh reach a level f English language prficiency equivalent t IELTS 5.5 (and qualify fr entry with respect t their academic criteria) may be ffered a pathway curse which includes English fr Academic Purpses curse prir t cmmencing their primary curse. At the cnclusin f the English fr Academic Purpses curse applicants are expected t demnstrate the required English prficiency fr direct admissin. Graduate Certificate An Australian Bachelr degree (r equivalent); A Diplma (r equivalent) plus evidence f a minimum f tw years relevant industry experience; Mature age students (21 years f age and ver) may be admitted t the curse withut meeting the frmal academic requirements if they have relevant and recgnised prir learning, e.g. wrk experience. Students shuld review the relevant curse infrmatin t determine if these pathways are applicable fr entry int their chsen curse. 1. Evidence t undertake study at higher level: A student wh des nt meet the minimum educatin requirement fr entry int a curse may be ffered entry if they demnstrate relevant and recgnised prir learning (refer t Recgnitin f Prir Learning Plicy). 2. Mature age entry: Mature age students (21 years f age and ver) may be admitted t a curse withut meeting academic entry requirements where they can demnstrate the attainment f relevant and recgnised prir learning experience. 3. Schl leavers: Fr schl leavers entering undergraduate curses the Schl ffers a number f bnus pint schemes. These include but are nt limited t the fllwing schemes: a. Lw SES bnus pints: Five bnus pints are awarded t students wh attend a schl included in the Australian Gvernment Natinal Partnership fr Lw Sci-ecnmic Status Schl Cmmunities Prgram Schls. Students frm rural and remte areas are als eligible fr five bnus pints. Students n a Schl Card (r state equivalent), Yuth Allwance and/r Health Care Card r Lw Incme Health Care Card and wh d nt attend a recgnised lw SES, can apply fr five bnus pints. b. Achievement bnus pints: Students will be eligible t receive three achievement bnus pints (up t a maximum f five) if they scre a C- r better in Year 12 (r its equivalent)* subjects that are relevant t the curse the student is applying fr. Three bnus pints will be given fr a C grade (C-, C r C+), fur bnus pints fr a B grade (B-, B r B+), and five bnus pints fr an A grade (A-, A r A+). c. Mathematics and Languages Bnus Pints Scheme: The Bnus Pints Scheme ffers up t five bnus pints each fr Specialist Mathematics and/r a language ther than English LOTE subject, depending n perfrmance. Three bnus pints will be given fr a C grade (C-, C r C+), fur bnus pints fr a B grade (B-, B r B+), and five bnus pints fr an A grade (A-, A r A+). * Applicants with Internatinal Baccalaureate (IB) r ther Year 12 equivalent qualificatins are eligible t apply fr bnus pints.
