Themes include arts, agriculture and science, nutrition, history, community connections, sports and games, safety, and a final celebration week. Children can participate in the entire 8-week program or select the weeks they prefer to participate. $10/week Lunch + afternoon snack 1-6 Grades None *Transportation will be available from Rougher Summer Pride to Community Treasures but parents are still responsible for picking their children up at the end of the program. 8 Project Transformation Project Transformation is an 8-week summer literacy camp open to Muskogee children entering grades 1-5. Campers must be eligible for free/reduced lunch and need help with reading. Mornings start with breakfast followed by opening warmup session with values lessons. Starting around 10 am campers rotate through 30 minutes sessions in reading, art, recreation and S.T.E.M. At noon, free lunch is provided by MPS School Nutrtition Center. Afternoon activities include library visits, field trips, park activities, guest speakers and special enrichment and cultural activities. Two parent nights are scheduled to encourage parent participation, showcase camper activities. $5 Breakfast, Lunch & snack Entering Grades 1-5 Must be eligible for free & reduced lunch AND need help with reading. Regular attendance is required. 9 Learn - Create - Muskogee Public Library Muskogee Public Library offers a variety of free hands on learning classes to youth in grades The Maker camp lets youth create projects using 3D printing, coding and die-cutting. Daily challenges include making music, engineering towers, games and more. Video Game Coding lets youth create their own video game using simple and easy coding software with daily discussions of plaing video games. Digital Photography teaches youth to explore taking photos using digital photography through daily themes. 10 Youth Volunteer Corps- Summer of Service Youth Volunteer Corps provides opportunities for youth in grades The youth select projects they are interested in participating in that serve community needs such as literacy, working with special needs populations, animal welfare, community gardening, hunger awareness etc. Projects vary in length- morning, afternoon, full day, one time or multiple days. There is something for everyone! $10 ($8 additional for T-shirts) Varies Grades 7-12 Application and orientation. Must have a desire to serve the community. 11 Smart School The mission of M1A Smart School is to provide an accelerated, educational experience designed to enrich students academically and to develop character in the lives of young people. Smart school incorporates reading, math, dance and character formation into the learning environment to provide each child memorable, fun experience. 15 Butterfly Camp At Muskogee Parks and Recreation the Papilion at Honor Heights Park is offering a day camp focusing on butterflies. 16 Band Pride Band Pride partners with Muskogee Public Schools to help preevent summer learning loss and teaches advanced skills for middle school and freshmen students. The program also provides opportunities for high school students to continue their musical instruction throughout the summer months. The focus of the camp is on teaching music fundamentals and preparing students for both the middle school and high school band experience. Band Pride teaches all students to become responsible citizens and develop character and leadership skills. Students learn the basics of being on time, not giving up, staying consistent and being proactive. 17 No Speed Limit This program provides mentoring and character development through track and field curriculum and involvement. Their motto is, The way we do anything is the way we do everything. The program focuses on physcial fitness but also integrates community service projects, tutoring, parent participation and mentoring.
