The event aims to reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational and social value of all types of games. Why do libraries celebrate gaming? Library gaming programs encourage interaction between patrons of all ages and cultures. As games have evolved over the years to become more dynamic requiring more interaction and socialization amongst players so have libraries, by re-energizing themselves as community learning centers. Libraries still provide traditional services, but continue to change by offering new formats like video games and programs like family gaming nights..." At noon, join us for one of our favorite Wii games, Mario Kart! We will be competing against other libraries across the nation; let s show them what our little town can do!

Saturday, November 17 at 1pm at Clark House Join us for a classic Disney tale about a young Native American woman who befriends British settlers in the New World. The Round Lake Library Goes to Seed Acting on a suggestion from our patrons Patty and Andrew, we are starting a Seed Library this fall! We will accept donations of vegetable or flower seed, store them safely over the winter and them make them available to our gardening patrons for checkout in the spring. If the crop is successful, the gardener will then return some seed to the Library to begin the cycle again. There will be no overdue fines for unsuccessful crops! Saving and replanting seeds from most vegetables and many annual or perennial flowers is easy. For more information and advice on collecting seeds, speak with staff member Paul Lavin at the Library or him at plavin@sals.edu. A world without books would be a world without light without light, we cannot see. Ronald Reagan ereader and Coffee Join us for an informative afternoon discussion on how to get books from the Round Lake Library website onto your ereader. Coffee will be brewed and served at the library for those attending the discussion. Tuesday, November 15 at 1:30pm at Clark House To better your experience, bring your ereader, USB cable, and maybe a laptop. For you Kindle lovers, please know your Amazon.com account information.
