One grup will learn abut ESL, and the ther will learn abut Special Educatin. The teacher shuld allw students t chse which grup they want t participate in but shuld make sure there are students in bth grups. All students will interact with bth ESL and Special Educatin cntent at the end f the lessn. Yu culd intrduce the difference this way: "Chse whether t lk clsely at ESL, which stands fr English as Secnd Language, r Special Educatin. English as a Secnd Language is a special class in schl fr children wh d nt speak English as well as a child wh has spken it mst f his r her life. It is a class abut learning hw t speak, read, and write English better. Special Educatin is fr students wh have truble learning the same way as ther children because they have a physical r mental difference r disability." As the grups wrk n the activity, make sure t check in with them abut whether they cmprehend the details f the student narratives. Divide int tw grups.
