2 A GOWING CONFEENCE The 18th edition of the annual JMSM Sports Business Conference is a few short months away. Once again, hundreds of North America s best and brightest students will come to Montreal to learn from distinguished sports industry executives, such as Kevin Gilmore, Ian Clarke, John Lu and many more. Aside from interacting with professionals, you ll also have the chance to network with your fellow delegates. JMSM13 provides both a strong opportunity to broaden your sports-business knowledge and gain insights into a competitive and heavily sought-after field. The business of sports is now moving at a breakneck pace. Marketing, fan engagement and club culture have become vital to the success, or failure, of organizations. This year s conference theme, Change The Game, encompasses just that. Simply put, attending the conference will enhance your knowledge of sports business while expanding your network of contacts and granting you a competitive edge in the ever-moving landscape of modern sports.

Living on the Wild Side This panel will discuss the growth and evolution of extreme sports and its impact on the industry today. Under the Microscope This panel will highlight the trials and tribulations sports executives face on a day-to-day basis. Fandomonium This panel will analyze the importance of creating the ultimate in-game fan experience through the lens of marketing strategies, game presentation, and promotions that all aim to increase fan engagement. 7 ABOUT US The John Molson Sports Marketing Committee (JMSM) is a non-profit student organization at Concordia University. We are committed to providing students with practical knowledge about the sports industry, thus complementing their academic experiences. Our motto Business at hand, Sport at heart, encompasses the very core of our organization. We strive for excellence and innovation in all of our undertaking. For almost twenty years, we have hosted a highly reputed sports business conference. This year, we are aiming to organize another great conference by adapting our formula in order to upgrade the experience and benefits for our students, speakers, and sponsors. JMSM has a rich tradition, a committed executive team and strong links to the business community. What characterizes us most is our passion for creating a unique learning environment and promoting the field of sports business.
