Exam success gives you the power to choose where YOU want to go next. We are here to help you do that. Exam preparation lessons are available as part of a GE20, GE25 or GE30 programme. About the lessons The classes focus on exam preparation skills for IELTS and Cambridge ESOL we work on helping students improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in order to equip them with the range of skills they need to for all exam questions and tasks. The classes offer a focus on techniques and strategies for students to employ when attempting different exam task types to make sure they are using their time during the exam as efficiently as possible. Of course, alongside this there is always a great deal of attention paid to using accurate and varied grammatical structures, a wide range of vocabulary and work on pronunciation and plenty of practice which helps to develop spoken fluency.

Our School is located in the prestigious central business district of Manchester city centre and just a 2 minute walk from Piccadilly Gardens, the central transport hub for buses, trains and trams.

6 Accommodation in Manchester We offer all our adult students a choice of accommodation options whilst they are studying with us in Manchester: Home stay All our home stay providers are carefully selected and their homes inspected regularly to make sure that you are staying with a friendly family in a comfortable and safe house. There are two types of home stay: Standard Full board accommodation at the weekend and half board from Monday to Friday. Executive As above but the student has a private bathroom. All home stays are accessible using public transport and are located in areas with a maximum travel time to the school of 40 Self-catering student residence Some students prefer to stay in a student residence. You will have your own room with private bathroom and share a kitchen and lounge with 5 other students. The student residences are not owned or managed by IH Manchester but we are very happy to check availability and book this accommodation for you. The residences are safe and secure and offer all inclusive weekly rents. Our choice of residences are located between 10 and 20 minutes walk from the school. Hotel Manchester has many city centre hotels at every level from budget hostel up to 5 star. NB - Our junior students (under 18 years) must stay with one of our specially approved and regulated junior home stay providers. Social Activities at IH Manchester At the school we organise many activities and excursions for our students all year long. This means that you can quickly and easily make friends, Discover all the fantastic things that Manchester has to offer and continue to practise your English outside of the classroom. We know that everybody doesn t always like to do the same things, so we always offer a choice of activities. See how much fun you can have as your spoken English fluency skills improve and your vocabulary gets bigger! All events, excursions and activities are led by one of our teachers.
