For CSU GE certification purposes, courses used to satisfy this CSU graduation requirement may also be used to satisfy CSU GE Plan Subject Areas C or D. However, if a course(s) is used to satisfy both a CSU GE subject-area requirement and the CSU United States History, Constitution and American Ideals graduation requirement, some CSU campuses may require students to take an additional course(s) after transfer. CSUN will NOT require an additional course(s). Other CSU campuses should be consulted directly regarding their policy. US-1: Historical development of American institutions and ideals US-2: U.S. Constitution and government US-3: California state and local government **This requirement may be met before or after transfer to the CSU. **If a course is approved for more than one US Area, a student may use the course to satisfy all areas listed. US 1 US-1: Chicano 7* (Fall 16), 8* (Fall 16); Economics 10 (Fall 15); History 11, 12, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, 52 US 2 US-2: Political Science 1, 19, 30 (Fall 16) US 3 US-3: Political Science 1, 19, 30 (Fall 15) *CSUN s Comparative Cultures Graduation Requirement (May be completed at LA Pierce College) Students who are fully CSU GE Certified from Pierce College are required to complete 3 units to fulfill this requirement. 3 CSU GE Policy and Information (See the Articulation Agreements link on the Transfer Center website for the full CSU GE policy) CSU GE Plan courses must be completed with a passing grade. At Pierce, this is a grade of A, B, C, D or P. However, areas A1, A2, A3 and B4, must be completed with a C- (2.0) or better for admissions to a CSU campus. Courses may be used only once to satisfy one CSU subject area, even if they are listed in the course agreement under more than one subject area. Courses may be used to satisfy both CSU and major requirements. Warning: Many students attend multiple California Community College campuses. Be sure to follow the CSU GE at each college of attendance. CSU GE policy states that CSU GE coursework completed in a specific subject area will be used in the area designated by the California Community College at which the course was completed. This is also the policy if you complete courses at more than one of the LACCD campuses. You must follow the CSU GE of each college you attend. Use of External Exams The following External Exams may be used toward completion of the CSU GE Plan in the areas indicated below. All CSU campuses will accept the minimum units shown below toward fulfillment of the designated General Education area. The CSU Campus you transfer to determines the total number of units awarded for each external exam and the applicability of the examination to other graduation requirements.
