3 As part of our service to rural communities in Perth and Kinross, we run Learning Centres in Blairgowrie, Crieff, Kinross and Pathways (in Perth city centre). Each centre is equipped with the latest technology and is convenient for local businesses looking for training, from basic to advanced level. They are also all linked to our IT system, which is part of the University of the Highlands and Islands network. Our Learning Centres across Perth and Kinross offer a local alternative of quiet study space which may be convenient. Just log on to the network with your student ID to access all of the software you need for your course as well as network files and e-resources. It is also possible to attend video-conferenced classes from any of the centres just let us know in advance and have a note of the Jabber code. There are always distractions at home the centres offer a relaxed and comfortable environment for research, study, assignments, essay writing or even small group work. Our centres also offer a range of courses supported by friendly and experienced tutors. They can help you improve your skills, make studying a course at college within reach or even just assist you to satisfy a lifelong interest or learning ambition. If you want to use our centres for distance learning, business training, brushing up on your computer skills, or learning a skill on one of our taught courses, there s a wealth of learning opportunities on your doorstep. We also offer an extensive and varied range of leisure programmes designed to provide something for everyone, including art subjects like oil painting, life drawing, creative writing and stained glass. You can also try out courses as diverse as upholstery, digital photography, basic IT or languages.
