3 Introduction- Jiwaji University was established as a teaching and affiliating University on 23rd May 1964, under the provision of M. P. Government Ordinance no. 15 of Dr. Sarwapalli Radha krishanan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone of the University Campus on 11th December Right from its inception, Jiwaji University started with a status of a residential and an affiliating University. The territorial jurisdiction of the affiliation extends to six districts of Gwalior and Chambal Division, viz., Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Guna, Shivpuri and Datia. To begin with, the University had a total of 29 affiliated colleges. Those have steadily increased to more than 100 colleges. Till date 26 Government and 7 non-government colleges impart teaching up to postgraduate level. Some of the colleges have also developed into recognized research centers. About Department- School of Studies in Library and Information Science was established in the University in 1984 to impart quality education and modern skills in the field to the students of the region leading to Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science and Master Degree in Library and Information Science. The Department is extensively engaged in teaching, research and career guidance too. The majority of the pass outs from the department have occupied good positions throughout the country. In the new millennium, the department is planning to establish a highly efficient computerized information system in the University. This job oriented course has been modernized with use of the latest equipment in teaching and training at degree, post graduate and research level. Objectives- The goal of the conference is to bring together librarians, information engineers, educators as well as experts and professionals in other related fields, from India, not only to exchange ideas and share research findings about web based learning but also juxtapose knowledge generation and development through various information management processes and associated technologies. The specific objectives of the conference are:

4 To create awareness among the library and information science professionals on the latest developments in library and information services. To explore the emerging technologies for delivering quality and value added services. To offer an opportunity to put forth innovative ideas, through debates and discussion for closer cooperation and development among library and information professionals. To strengthen the academic collaborations and strategic alliances for the development of digital libraries. To facilitate interaction with experts in order to bridge the knowledge gap between developing and the developed countries. Call for Papers- Original papers in English & Hindi are invited on a theme related to those mentioned below. A review panel will review the papers based on originality of the work, quality and relevance to the main theme of the conference. Peer reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. The papers should strictly follow the submission guidelines. The conference would have the following sub themes: Cloud Computing Automated Library Digital Library Virtual Library Development of Digital Libraries Digital Library Consortia Case Studies IPR Issues Multilingual Digital Libraries Digital Preservation Strategies Information Retrieval in Indian Languages E-learning & Mobile-learning Barcode Technology and their implementation RFID Technology and implementation Open Source Software s & their tools Open Access Initiatives, Open Access Repositories Web 2.0/3.0 Technologies Social Networking Tools for Information Services Knowledge Organization Techniques Guidelines for Submission of Papers - All manuscripts should be unpublished original work and should be submitted with a covering letter signed by the author/s. The letter should mention the theme and the topic under which the paper falls. Please refer to the list of topics under 'Call for papers. Abstract along with the full paper need to be submitted for approval to the Editorial Committee by the date announced. The full paper will be reviewed by the reviewers appointed by the Editorial Committee for acceptance/modifications.

5 The paper may be limited words. All papers should be typed on Microsoft Word using Times New Roman/ Kruti Dev 10 font with 12 pt. size. Paper size should be A4, using 1.15 spacing with margins 1 (top, bottom and right), and 1.5 (left). Headings & sub headings must be in bold font, justified and numbered according to level of heading as below (First Level Heading, 1.1 Second Level Heading, Third Level Heading). All illustrations, figures, and tables should be placed within the text at the appropriate points, with numbers and captions. Reference/bibliographies should be properly cited as per MLA format prescribed by Modern Language Association. Title of the paper title should be concise and expressive of the content; a sub-title may be added if required. The main title should be followed by name, affiliation and address of the author(s) with ID and contact numbers. All papers must be accompanied by one passport size colour photograph together with a short CV. The length of the abstract should not be more than words in italics. At least 5 keywords must be given after the abstract with bold face. University shall have the first publication rights to papers presented at the Seminar. Authors of the selected papers should have to submit a Declaration Form for Copyright Transfer and Authorization Note for Paper Editing. Research scholars and students should submit their Registration form through the Guide/Head of the institution. Author affiliation in each research paper will be limited to three in numbers. No further author affiliation is considered in any research paper. Poster Presentation- Only accepted papers will be allowed to be presented. Papers may also be accepted for poster presentation as per the recommendation of Editorial Committee. Timeline for Paper Submission - Papers should be submitted in softcopy version to: soslibraryscience@gmail.com & shrhemant@yahoo.com Receipt of full paper with Abstract: till 15/5/2014. Registration Fees - Nominal registration fees required from the participants to windup the conference expenses. The details of which are as follows: Working Professional: Rs- 1000/-(Kits With conference proceeding) Research Scholar/ Students: Rs- 500/- Accommodation Charges: Rs- 500/-per person, per day on sharing basis. All Drafts should be made in favour of Registrar, Jiwaji University, Gwalior payable at Gwalior (M.P.). Note: Only papers by authors who send their participation confirmation along with the requisite participation fee in advance will be included in the conference proceedings volume and considered to be presented.
